jcsabolt2Need a Woman’s Gun Belt...Recommendations?
My wife is 5’4” and 120lbs looking for a gun belt. I took her shooting with her G42 and Kydex holster just using a normal leather belt. It was bad. She had trouble getting the gun out, etc. the belt wasn’t stiff enough and probably not tight enough. Probably looking for more of a training belt more than anything, probably 1.25” NOT 1.5”.
Thanks!

nhracecraftGood luck finding a 1.25" Gun Belt that will work for the Training/Holster work you're intending. The dimension of the belt loops on your wife's Kydex Holster is likely larger than that.
My wife has the Wilderness Tactical belt (w/ Polymer Insert) in a 1.5" width, and has used it for multiple classes at SIG Academy. I highly recommend it....

Many of us go through this. It's a revelation what a good gun belt will do.

JasonEucTake a look at Kore Essentials 1-3/8” wide options. The adjustment track works very well for getting perfect fit.

ibandaThe beltman.net will make a custom size leather one for $75. I have been wearing one for 10 years.
I have a few SIGs.

AH.74I have a 1.25" Horsehide belt from the Beltman, for use with pants with smaller loops. I got my wife a bullhide one as well, for the rare occasions she needs it.
It's not ideal- the 1.5" is much better, but the 1.25" is plenty sturdy and up to the task- especially with a small/light unit like the 42. A holster with 1.25" loops/clips will work better with it, of course.

BeancookerMy wife has an Rgrizzle belt. 1.25.
With the stiffener it will do just fine for what you wish to do. Maybe even buy her a matching holster.

Unless it's a clothing issues where her pant belt loops are too small for a 1.5" belt, go with a 1.5".
Even if that's the case, consider a 1.5" belt and have her wear it over her regular belt "battle belt" style.
Most holsters are designed for 1.5" - so the smaller belt will allow the holster to move more vertically on the draw.
A few belts I have/like:

https://blade-tech.com/product...ariant=6067163463708With the inner belt used in place of a regular belt, and the holster on outer belt - I can assure you the holster isn't going anywhere.

(The inner belt isn't all that bad by itself.)

Not only could the Holster move 'vertically' on the draw, it could also 'rock fore & aft' due to any mismatch/play between the belt loops in the holster and the belt width. Unless she's experienced, with a VERY repeatable Draw Stroke, I highly recommend matching the Holster to the Belt, even if that means a new Holster to go with the new Belt!
IMO this is really important for training purposes, especially if it's someone that's new to holster work....A stable & repeatable platform is key!

slosigDon’t know what kind of holster you’re using. With the Blade-Tech Tek-Lok attachment, there are tabs you can adjust to cater for different width belts. They can be placed near the top for a lower ride or near the bottom for a higher ride. I’d guess many holster manufacturers have some way to adjust to different sized belts.
