IIRC, Fauci's bachelor's and master's degrees were in Letters. One university offered an MD program for those wanting to become HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATORS, to get an MD degree. And he's the science! Unless I'm mistaken I've had more Immunology, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, Hematology, etc. than him as a medical lab tech (in my earlier life)!

Isn't it great how someone can write a book about another's crimes on humanity and even bring the receipts to prove it and all that transpires is that individual made money on writing the book. It's the new American way. I know, we need Rand Paul to have another hearing with Fauci that will provide us with another two pages of posts about how Rand really got Fauci with the gotcha questions.

Sounds like Rand Paul's strategy is to make Fauci testify so he could then be charged for lying to Congress, getting around the autopen issue.
He's already backed out of a voluntary interview and the involuntary subpoena is for sometime in July.

If that becomes a real possibility I suspect he'll just take the 5th and claim, with the MSM's full support, that it's just a witch-hunt.

I don't have great confidence in Rand's ability to do more than grandstand, but we can always hope.

Fauci could refuse to show up to testify, but then be subject to Contempt of Congress penalties. He could tell the full truth and be immune from any prosecution, but we know he won't talk. He can make like Hillary and say he doesn't recall anything.

But what he can't do is refuse to speak based on the 5th.

If he testifies and lies it is a crime. But I don't think he's stupid enough to do that. My guess is he'll stall for time, hoping for a Dem Congress or that it blows over. If a couple of key Senators leave, such as Rand, then Congress may lose interest.

That's possible but Rand Paul's strategy here is to subpoena new testimony and get him to admit (highly unlikely), stone wall by pleading the 5th, or testifying falsely so they can then charge him with lying under oath.
If the autopen pardons ever gets ruled as illegal, that's a bonus.
