I'm at the range trying to sight in a new (to me) scope on my JP CTR-02 .223 The older guy a few lanes over is shooting an AR-10 and he's making the steel sing. Bang...ding, bang...ding, bang...ding. He clearly has his rifle tuned in for his 100 yard shots. I realize .308 at 100 yards isn't super impressive....BUT I'm struggling with my VERY NICE AR...a gun that I previously could routinely hit a 9" plate at 100 yards with iron sights. Like an idiot I had removed the front sight. So there I was, unable to see where I was missing. After a few frustrating magazines the range was called cold and I had a chance to chat with the gent shooting the AR-10. He noticed I was a bit exasperated and asked what I was doing. I told him and he said he be happy to spot for me. I took him up on the offer and once the range was hot and with his help I had the rifle ringing the steel in short order. I thanked him, introduced myself and asked if he'd like a go with my AR. He said he'd be pleased to and remarked that he had heard good things about the JP triggers. I told him he should like it very much. He was pleased with the trigger and offered to let me shoot his AR 10. I did and enjoyed it tremendously. I learned he was in the British Army for 4 years and then had moved to the States. I went from thinking I had "wasted" a trip to the range to being really glad I had gone. This is now two range trips in a row that have really brought me more happiness than usual. ____________________________ Yes, Para does appreciate humor.

Range trips like that are good for the soul. Sounds like you went with the flow and karma smiled on you for it. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

I saw a guy at the range struggling with a zero. Some people want help, so don't, so I tend to mind my own business. After awhile he came over an asked if I could help him, as soon as I looked at the scope I realized he had it rotated 90 degrees. We fixed that and all his problems went away. I did not mention to him why I saw that so quick, just the year before I had done the same thing. __________________________ Keep your rotor in the green The aircraft in trim Your time over target short Make it count

I tend to mind my business when I'm at the range but there have been some memorable trips where I struck up a conversation with another shooter and it paid off . One guy was shooting a bolt action .50 BMG rifle and asked me if I wanted to " touch one off ?" Why hell yes ! Another day two older guys were shooting some beautiful lever action rifles and let me fire several of them .

Glad it worked out. I would say that just because you are having problems or issues it doesn't meant the trip is "wasted". If everyone looked at problems and issues as a way to learn, improve and a challenge to the mind ~ we all would be better off. Sometimes the process is better than the end game aka result. Live and learn so to speak. Congrats on a nice weapon ~ JP is a great company.
