18DAIWhat 1911 is that in the Fox News Header?
On Fox News Breaking News website righ now is a header showing a compact 1911 with a square trigger guard being drawn from IWB.
What brand 1911 is that? It has unusual grips and magwell. It resembles, to me, one of those custom frame kits. Anyone know what it is? Thanks! Regards 18DAI

12131Looks like one of those STI poly 1911s.

.38supersigLooks like an Infinity 2011. The STI poly grips would have the lower screw on the grips. The trigger style was not available from Tripp Research.

RogueJSKYep. Some flavor of STI or SVI compact 2011 (double stack, polymer-framed 1911).

18DAIThanks fellas!

Looking at online photos, the closest I came was an STI VIP Compact 45. Any idea if there is an agency (photos insinuate it is an ICE Agents gun) that authorizes those pistols? Regards 18DAI

RogueJSKI don't think they're insinuating they're used by ICE. The image and article are about liberal Chicago's disconnect from the rest of the conservative state of IL, on issues like immigration enforcement (stock ICE badge photo) and guns (separate stock handgun photo).
The chances of an agency using them is slim. They're custom made guns in the $2000-$5000 range.
Although the small police department in Berryville, Arkansas (where Wilson Combat is located) does use Wilson Combat 1911s... I always give their cadets at the academy where I teach a hard time about being sure to baby their multi-thousand dollar duty guns.

.38supersigSeveral years ago the Greene Co. Sheriff's Office in Ohio got SVI pistols for their SWAT team.
