Whew, glad it's over second eye done today (cataract)
Right eye was done two weeks ago and just had the left one this morning at 6:30. Hanging around taking it easy for a couple days then it'll be almost back to normal assuming it goes like the other one. I have the left eye closed and I'm typing and comfortably reading on the laptop with my done right eye with no more reading glasses! It's amazing what our doctors and healthcare can do for us, the improvement in my eyesight is dramatic.

Glad it all went well for you. My wife had hers done a couple of years ago and said the same thing, she rarely needs her reading glasses anymore either. Instead of dreading it, I am actually looking forward to having mine done as soon as the doctor says it's time. I have worn bifocal lenses for quite some time now, even though I don't need the upper part (basically no prescription), it's been well worth it to insure I always have them with me and never leave them on a job site back when I worked.

Yes I opted for multifocal lens and it's worked well in my right eye because I can see distance, intermediate, and close up,with no glasses. Actually I never wore glasses until around 15 years ago when I needed readers, the last ones I got are 2.50. My previous eye test was 7 years ago which revealed that cataracts were just starting, he prescribed glasses for distance which I never got and over those 7 years my distance vision further worsened. I knew it had gotten worse but didn't realize just how bad until I went again last month. He said "at this point glasses can't help much at all".

Have had both eyes done myself, made a huge difference. Just wait until you go to the range!

I did develop a need for readers about ten years after the cataract surgeries, no big deal.

I don't know the exact name but they are multifocal and made (I believe) by Alcon.

I can imagine, I just hope I'll be able to see the rear and front sights as well as the target.

Glad to hear all went well. My first eye is in 2 weeks and the other a week after that. I'm looking forward to ditching the glasses.

ridewv,
I'm hoping for a good outcome as well. Going in this Wednesday for cataract surgery plus glaucoma stents for one eye with the same for the other two weeks later.

Mark and bald it's quite a slick procedure, quick and not even uncomfortable, and very successful. They really have this procedure down now.

Both of mine were done 4 years ago. I was 20/400+ before and now 20/15. Huuuge difference. I eliminated my astigmatism as well. What a miracle.

Glad to hear it worked for you. My son is only 19 and is looking to possibly get his eyes done one day. I am just nervous about the procedure more than he is.

Had my left eye done yesterday and the next day follow up this morning. Huge difference thus far and I'm wearing non-Rx sunglasses Cool

Right eye is scheduled on the 7th of June
