Sean Penn threatens to ‘smelt’ Oscars if Ukraine’s Zelenskyy doesn’t get chance to speak at Academy Awards
Well, finally we know the real cause of this little spat.

It's Trump's fault! Who else!

CNN analyst blames Trump for aftermath of Will Smith-Chris Rock Oscars incident

Here's the link if anyone cares. It's not just stupid. It's liberal level stupid.

A powerful slap to a man in public, implies he is not a man, but a mere woman. It is a double insult. Smith communicated more with a slap than a punch.

And when I said it "seemed" real, since I did not slap, nor be slapped, I cannot be 100% certain, but I am 99.9 to pi decimal places sure.

Staged would have had "staged tells" (some already mentioned), right or wrong, Smith was pissed and Rock was surprised.

But I gotta (back) hand it to Rock for maintaining himself.

If it wasn't staged it should have been, sure got the event talked about worldwide, one that was fading into obscurity.

Local morning drive show said the talk of the comedian world is they are concerned that it will empower people in the audience at shows now to physically confront comedians doing shows on stage when something offends someone, which, of course is the point of a lot of comedy.

Chris Rock has told jokes about many people's wives, husbands, kids, mothers, fathers. Same with Bill Burr, Dave Chappelle, Jerry Seinfeld. Maybe he did push the envelope a bit judging by the video clips (I did not see the show).

Call me weird, but I still think it is not OK to physically assault a person over a verbal joke. And by the looks of it, Smith was actually laughing at the joke until his wife changed that.

Terrible optics to be honest. Will Smith physically assaults someone in front of the whole world and suffers zero repercussions and wins an academy award. Rock isn't pressing charges, but a comedians job just got harder and more dangerous.

Exactly that’s what you get at these types of things like roasts and the such. What are we gonna have now someone who gets up and slaps the roaster every there is a joke that hurts their “whittle feelings”? Roll Eyes

If this was not a set up, Chris Rock would be well within his rights to press charges for assault on Smith, and I think he should. Fuck that guy.

It went from bad to worse for Will Smith after he slapped Chris Rock in the face over a joke about his wife at the Oscars, with many pointing out that Smith was exhibiting “cuckold rage” in response to him and his wife having an “open relationship.”

Will Smith was laughing his ass off after the Chris Rock joke about his wife. Not sure why he was so upset unless his slut wife caught him laughing at the joke and she motivated him to do something.

Just imagine what would have happened if it had been Dave Chappelle (never would happen in Woke Hollywood) up on the stage instead of Chris Rock.

Smith: “Keep my wife’s name out your f***ing mouth!”

Chappelle (or what Rock really wanted to say): "Ok, just as long as I can put my dick in her mouth again."

I think that is exactly what happened. If you look, he was cracking up until he happened to glance over and see his wife staring daggers, then his composure changed.

Just saw that the Oscar people are having a meeting right now whether to strip that Best Actor award from him over this. I say they'll give him a slap on the wrist (pun intended) and he gets to keep it.

Watch the video I posted on pg 3 and the 'Slap heard round the world' video on this page.

I don't understand these theories & contentions that, "It was staged."
The Oscars are not pre-recorded. If ppl knew about the incident in advance, then sure, a lot of them might tune in to see it unfold. We heard about it after the fact. How does this help ratings?

It'll help w/ next year's show? What century are you living in? Do you think a year from now ppl will be thinking, "I need to watch this year's awards show, b/c of what happened last year?"
Is your interest on this year's Super Bowl based on last year's game? E.g., The Patriots beat the Seahawks last year in a nail-biter and one for the ages. The Broncos play the Panthers this year, so it should be even better?

We know the Academy is woke as f*ck. How does the Academy come out looking better from this? Their 'Best Actor' slapped the shit out the host and dropped two f-bombs on live television.

Will Smith had a reputation for being one of the nicest guys in Hollywood. How does he come out looking better after extracting 'hood justice on Chris Rock? Ppl are making all kinds of jokes & comments about Smith having gone ghetto. It was straight out of a Dave Chappelle skit, "When keeping it real goes wrong."

It takes decades to build a good reputation and about 15 min to destroy it. You're seeing it happen now w/ Will Smith. Will, Jada, & the Academy all look like a bunch of stooges. The only one who possibly comes out looking OK from this is Rock for maintaining his composure.

I will be looking forward to some jokes from Ricky Gervais about this at Smith's expense.

Smith lost his cool and committed misdemeanor battery in front of millions of people. That's a crime, and if any of us did it we would have been arrested and charged. With no priors it would result in a couple years probation, along with anger management and violence prevention classes.

But it stands to reason that if he is unable to control himself on a worldwide television broadcast, he is likely to be more violent behind closed doors. Also shows that he thinks getting "dissed" by a smaller man means violence is justified. That's pretty ghetto.

His wife is a ho and he's not happy about it. He was probably a decent loyal guy and she wasn't, and he has to live with the public shame. I respect him trying to forgive her and keep his family together, and under the circumstances of a private citizen, that might work with appropriate counseling. But in his position, there is no way to escape it and he shoud have filed divorce instead of play "open marriage". Real men do not share their women, and everyone knows it.

She's probably losing her hair due to the stress of what she did.

Wasn't aware of this (not like I follow such) which explains the commentary about Smith being cuckhold.

I was in the 'its staged' camp but, after a few more watches, looks real. Rock had to skip a beat to compose himself, didn't rub his face, like baseball, don't show'em it hurt.

Smith is a multi-millionaire several times over and been an A-lister for a chunk of his career. Real chump move to do that openly, backroom discussion or at the after party would've been the better move. Trying to think of how past Hollywood hot heads like McQueen, Bronson, Robert Conrad, James Caan, etc.. would've handled this.
