I made a post here in 2021 about my wife chasing her dreams and becoming a racecar driver of sorts.

It's right here:

So my wife is a race car driver...

Well, she's done a thing or two since then. The biggest accomplishment being Pikes Peak.

She's on the facebook, instagram, and still has her very own website tracking what she's been up to.

Ryan Cheek Racing

She's become the factory driver for a small American company called American X Kart. They are the ones that offered her a ride to Pikes in 2024. We are going this year with them as well, Lord willing.

It's been a crazy 4 years that's for sure. I'm so proud of her and just wanted to share the progress she's made. From a 2006 Mustang GT we built in our garage to being handed the keys to a vehicle from a growing American company is just crazy to fathom.

We've gone from a team of 2 to an entire crew. She's the ring leader of sorts for The Insane HillClimb Posse a team of drivers and crew, of which has an IHCP Mafia, which is about 60 people deep currently. That group consists of other racers, workers, and diehard fans. Again, wild that so many want to be associated with her.

She's got her own photographers now as well, Guess Work Photography, which is just amazing. We are blessed.

Here's some shots of her Mustang in it's current form and her Cross Kart:

That’s pretty badass. Congratulations!

ETA, here is a small snippet I took from a magazine 20 some years ago. I figure you and your wife will appreciate it;

quote:
As the great American 20th century writer and adventurer Ernest Hemingway famously said. “There are only three sports - bullfighting, motor racing and mountain climbing. All the rest are games"
Hemingway was more than a little obsessed with sports that have a serious element of danger to them, but what he apparently failed to understand is that a Spanish dude in a Mickey Mouse hat and spandex tights waving a red cape around to blind and confuse a bull isn't exactly a fair fight, and anyone looking to take on Mt. Everest is either really rich and really bored or just plain suicidal.
I’m sorry, but a billionaire dealing with his mid-life crisis by hiring a pack of Sherpas to carry his bloated wallet to the top of the Himalayans is hardly a sport.

Which leaves us with motor racing.

That's more than pretty cool. Ever make it up to the NE? The PA Hillclimb Assc is pretty active. When I lived in NE PA I always looked forward to the Giant's Despair Hillclimb - no Pikes Peak, but it was good enough for Oscar Kovaleski (Polish Racing Assc.), back in the day.

Awesome. I’m friends with Rob of Faster Skunk and met your wife at one of the Dave’s Race events. I have been following her on instagram. The pikes peak journey was awesome. Also enjoyed watching her tail of the dragon videos.

So, that's wild. Rob is one of our closest friends. He organized the trailers that came up to help us with Helene in my other post I just made on here.

This is about hill climbing in a motor vehicle, so the only thing missing is the bull.

Those cross carts are unbelievably cool. I’ve watched them race many times on what is like a motorcycle TT track. I have no idea why they aren’t more popular. The power to weight ratio has to make them a ton of fun to drive.
