ArtieSThere's stuff I don't like, and there's stuff I actively avoid. Not a fan of lobster. Stay the hell away from organ meats.

ChicagoSigManI'm a fairly picky eater.
I won't eat oysters, snails or clams. Lobster, squid and shrimp are just fine.
No urchin, sea cucumber or other weird slimy things.
I won't eat meat that has visible fat on it. Grosses me out. So the only red meat I eat is filet or hamburger. No big fatty ribeyes for me.
There are also lots of animal parts I won't eat.
Things like chicken hearts or feet, calves brains, tongue, etc. Growing up in a Jewish household, I had my share of chopped liver, but that's as daring as I'll get. No organ meat for me.

TMatsTrue confessions. I’ve always been a picky eater. I’m much better now than I was when I was young, but there’s still quite a few things I won’t eat. Too many I ‘spose.

konata88There are many things I prefer to eat and not prefer to eat (meaning I won't buy it for myself).
But if served, I will eat almost anything that most people would consider normal. I will not eat things that most people would consider an exotic delicacy (like brains, balut, etc). At my age, anything I haven't already eaten by now, I probably won't eat moving forward. Although there are exceptions like my recent experience with pigeon (which I will eat but would just order chicken myself).
I draw the line on any food that seems unhygienic. Dirty, spoiled, sneezed on, etc....

It's really hard for me to watch food being prepared for this reason.
Dirty silverware also ranks high on my list.

Yeah, I won't eat at buffets, either.

fiasconvaLooks like a lot of us do not like cilantro. I think it's one of those that you either like it or hate it, one way or the other.

GT-40DOCI can handle small amounts of fresh cilantro, like I use in my menudo, fresh salsa, or a fresh lettuce salad. I can't handle a large amount as it over powers the dish.

I'm actually with you. I'll eat it if someone hands it to me, but I don't go out of my way for it. I like other melons, just not watermelon.

HayesGreenerMy wife hates carrots because her Mom made her eat them when she was a kid. She became expert at hiding them during dinner. When we got married we had a Labrador Retriever who loved carrots. Mrs. Greener says, "Damn, here I am an adult and don't have to eat the carrots, and I have a dog who loves them. Where was she when I was growing up?"

KevinCWI'll eat most "normal" things for an American.
I have some things that I have preferences about.
I don't like cooked cauliflower. Raw is fine (especially with some veggie dip) but cooked smells gross.
I'm not a huge fan of broccoli unless it is smothered in cheese and even then, never gonna be my first choice.
Onions I don't do raw, but like them cooked especially if diced up very, very small.
Also not the biggest mushroom fan, unless they are also diced very, very small.
Also, and I'm gonna piss everyone off here, sweet tea. My god, you Southerners are nuts as sweet as you make it. I like some sweetness to it but my god, it's like you took a shot glass full of tea and dissolved a few pounds of sugar in it. I usually order it "half/half" mixed with unsweete tea.

bobandmikakoI will not eat beef or pork liver. Even the smell makes me sick. I also will not eat beets.

More broad, anything from someone’s house I’ve never visited. I don’t know if they have cats shitting on the counters, or how they wash their dishes. Etc.

Agreed. Actually, I don't like any type of pudding or custard, nor pies of that type.
