AndybConnor McGregor? A publicity stunt???
About as Russian as it gets:
I am laughing inside. You [McGregor] broke window? Why? Come inside. If you real gangster why don’t you come inside? This is big history gangster place. Brooklyn. You want to talk to me? Send me location. I am going to come. No problem.

justjoeIf this was a deliberate publicity stunt, it was incredibly stupid. He will be sued out the wazoo, and only looks like a psycho-- not a good image for anybody, really.
Dana White makes McGregor sound like a genuine psycho, so maybe that is the real story. He would not be the first person undone by way too much money way too fast.
The Russian's response was perfect: "I am laughing inside. You [McGregor] broke window? Why? Come inside. If you real gangster why don’t you come inside?"
This was a lose-lose for McGregor.

LunaseeMy guess is it was not a stunt. Connor had beef with the Russian fighter (who was on the bus and not hurt).
Connor flew in ~20 Irish thug friends to carry this out.
Dana White is really pissed off at Connor. He was quoted saying something to the effect of "Normally if one of my guys get in trouble, I'm right there to help. I'm not doing a thing to help Connor"

TigerDoreDear Conor,
What a way to play right into the stereotype of the violent Irishman. Good job.

WasabibillIt's hard to imagine this was a stunt, but I have learned that my imagination has limits.

bertoIt's a stunt in that it was done to get attention. It wasn't planned or sanctioned by management. This isn't the UFC of old. IMG didn't drop $4 billion for UFC for a WWE style sideshow. Suspensions and jail time give UFC time for the next big thing to develop so a mega fight with the leprechaun can break box office records. The guy is buying his own hype. Now there might finally be consequences.
