Pardon a new thread. The previous two threads have the guest name in the thread title. This is an attempt to create a "revivable" weekly thread.

This week is a full hour with Benjamin Netanyahu. I am posting just after the episode ended. It has been outstanding TV. Levin asks a short question and Prime Minister Netanyahu speaks generally uninterrupted. Mr. Netanyahu has offered outstanding commentary on economic freedom, how Israel got the state off the back of the private economy, why America matters to the world, religious freedom in the Middle East, the oppressors in the Middle East, and the big stinker in the world punch bowl ... Iran.

I agree that Mark Levin is often a hard listen on radio. The show on Fox is a different animal. I miss adults talking like adults on TV and not playing a soundbyte salsa dance.

They don't think it be like it is, but it do.

Yes, it was very good. Got to respect the man. And the interviewer was good too.

Once again, it's a quiet, thoughtful long interview dealing with real substance, with a real world leader.
Waaayyy different from the rest of FNC and most of talk radio (Hugh Hewitt is a good interviewer).
I couldn't listen to Levin on the radio. This Levin really is quietly persuasive.

This was my favorite interview so far. Levin is great in this format, and Netanyahu is an intelligent leader, who much like Trump, puts his country first when it comes to decision making.

Great news!
Dr. Larry Arnn, President of Hillsdale College, is going to be the guest on Levin's show tonight (10 pm EDT, Fox News Channel).
Larry Arnn is a regular guest on Hugh Hewitt's radio show, where he and his Hillsdale colleagues expound on the Constitution, US and world history, the Great Books, religion, and other topics which should be (and used to be) considered necessary topics to be studied by those who wanted to be considered educated and might hope to become wise. Wise is an excellent description for Professor Arnn, a Christian, conservative, and in my opinion a great man.

For Jim Allen's benefit, Arnn is a Churchill scholar, and worked with Sir Martin Gilbert on the definitive Churchill biography. Since Gilbert's death, Arnn and Hillsdale colleagues are continuing Gilbert's project.

Yep, I know all about him. I have even traded thoughts with him about the Churchill movie which he liked and I refuse to watch.

Thanks to him, I acquired the 9 volume, >8,000 page bio of Churchill by Randolph Chirchill and Prof. Gilbert for my Kindle. I read the newsletters all the time, too.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I see there is also another episode of the Wise Guys, Ollie North, Bill Bennett, Airi Fleischer, and a player to be named later, I guess to take the place of Steve Winn who caught caught with his, ahhh, you know, in the ahhh, you know, or something, not as wise as it seemed. 8 pm eastern, I believe.

I had never seen Steve Wynn on TV before that Wise Guys show, and it was shortly thereafter that he was defenestrated. Quite a fall.

They had Bob Bennett, older brother of Bill Bennett, and a lawyer, and Maria Bartaromo in addition to the usual three.

I watched that and it was a breath of fresh air. Very informative and well supported. We need 100 more colleges like Hillsdale.

Hillsdale College takes no money from government.
We have to get government out of education... it's the only way to improve.

Government subsidies and mandates have led to the destruction of true education.

I used to listen to Bill Bennett's a.m. radio show on the internet as my day started. He gave that show up over a year ago and I miss his calmness and reason. Any sightings of him these days is much appreciated.

That was a great show and it repeated some of the points I had made earlier in the day during a discussion I had with my son’s gf. The thoughts of our forefathers during the drafting of our Constitution.

Almost everything these two said was familiar to me, so I turned off the TV at the end thinking “ nothing new here.”

But as I was drifting off to sleep later, a new to me thought popped up, how progressives are not merely refining the “experiment” to form a more perfect Union, but are endeavering to take humanity in an entirely new direction, towards the Borg like existence of the collective in which the Declaration and Constitution will be nullified, obsoleted, done away with entirely.

The goal of Western Christian democratic civilization has been the liberty of the individual, in the belief that free men and women left to their own interests and ambitions, the “invisible hand,” do the best job of creating prosperity, security and human happiness.

Progressives, when elected to office in the US, take an oath to support and defend the Constitution, but they don’t mean it. Hypocrites, bad faith!
