But pretty big and heavy to carry in a car, and is it also 12V?

Maybe I'll have to give up the dual 110v / 12v feature and just get a small 12v one.

For an air mattress: Walmart 12v/120v air mattress inflator.

As for the car, do they still make those jump start battery packs with a built in compressor? I’ve never used one.

Looks like the still do: DeWalt jump starter/tire inflator

This one looks like it might be about what I'm looking for. It operates off the car's accessory or AC and has set your pressure with auto shut-off.

I got this one in a Vine promotion (free). Seems to be decent, and versatile. Of course, Chinese, but you don't need an app. to make it work. Cheap enough to carry one in each car.

I have the same unit and highly recommend it. It has a digital dial, set the pressure, and it auto shuts off when it gets there. Gets there pretty quick too, especially compared to those little ones that fit in a glove box.

I’ve only had mine since May, but a friend has had one longer and uses it all the time- he has three cars and two golf carts.

It comes with the cigarette lighter (12 volt accessory) cable, but you can get a charger and two batteries for $116 right now on Amazon. I can’t imagine why you’d want to have to get out a cable when it works great with the batteries. And lithium batteries hold a charge for a long time- at least 6 months.

You can buy a 110 volt adapter if you really want.

Only downside is that it’s not tiny. And I bought a hard case, Pelican style, that holds the compressor, the charger, and an extra battery. It’s a nice package, and the unit is protected, but it definitely takes up more room

From what you described in your opening the Airmoto should work great unless she has a jacked up 4 x 4 that she airs down or has multiple flats at the same time. I haven't plugged my big compressor in to fill a tire since buying it and the VIAIR has languished in its bag in the back of the 4Runner. That little bugger has topped off multiple Corvette and 4Runner tires with no problem on the same charge. Bicycle tires are no issue either and I really like the convenience of auto shut off at pressure setting. She will like that she can hold it in one hand and stash it in the glovy.

I like that the Airmoto is small but why worry about keeping the battery topped up? I'm probably missing something but I don't foresee a scenario for her where a garage compressor that can also be carried in her vehicle once or twice a year needs to be battery operated?

Well I gave up on the 120v aspect and decided on this little Viair 10A, digital, auto-shutoff, inflator that is powered off the car's accessory outlet. I'll also get a 120v to cigarette outlet adapter so she can use it in her garage w/o having to start the car up. It'd be painfully slow to fill a deflated tire but hopefully that'll never be the case. Its real purpose will just be to pump up her bicycle tires, top up the car tires pressure, and be convenient to carry along on trips for emergencies. Thanks for all your suggestions!

I have one of these little Craftsman 6 gallon ones:

My Dad has also been using the same type for 30 years.

We've used them for tires, balls, nail guns, painting, and other air tools. They have a built in handle so you can carry it around with you pretty easily and they take up very little space.

That's exactly what I did only a 10A adapter because that's all the inflator draws.

Another Viair fanboy if you want to use it and have it last. I put around 8-10 of them in company trucks. Fills big truck tires in short order. The small cheaper ones can take forever and the duty cycle is usually super low. I have ran my Viais for 10-20 minutes straight airing up truck and trailer tires that have been sitting a while.

I have a smaller Husky model, don’t see it on the website.
The heavy-duty Husky model linked above runs on both 12V and 120.
