Turns out teen killer Karmelo Anthony isn't quite so poor after all.

Originally posted by Ripley: A statement from the Next Generation Action Network (NGAN) said that Karmelo Anthony has been moved from his home to an “undisclosed location to ensure his immediate safety” following an “alarming increase in death threats, continued harassment, and physical intimidation targeted at the family’s home.”
Anthony allegedly killed Metcalf over a seating dispute during a high school track meet in Frisco on April 2. He was freed from the Collin County Jail after his bond was reduced from $1 million to $250,000 last Monday. He is charged with first-degree murder.
According to the release, the threats include people loitering and taking photos of the Anthony family’s current residence, unwanted food deliveries that NGAN said were “made to disturb and harass the family” and a mailing of Metcalf’s obituary to the home, which was also described as “disturbing.”
“We are sharing images and documentation of the threats the family has faced this past weekend to make the public aware of the dangerous atmosphere that has been created — an atmosphere fueled by organized hate, systemic racism, and intentional misinformation,” the group said.
Nothing new here...just following the "make the thug look the victim" playbook. Setting the stage for a more favorable change of venue for the trial and jury nullification.
BUT...from the same news article: The Frisco Police Department told Fox News Digital, "our department does not have any reported cases involving the Anthony family being threatened."

Imagine that in todays social media world there are plenty of people posting things against him, based on the abuse of donated funds, new vehicles, house, and the fact the judge dropped bond on him for house arrest...
Agree, it's all part of the plan/process to get the case moved to another court claiming local bias won't let him get a fair trial in a conservative location.

Weird. Thought it was a clean cut case of self defense?? That is what the media kept saying.

Apparently they're only allowing FOIA requesters to view the footage, no recordings to be taken. You know if Metcalf had been the aggressor, the video would have been released, so I can't imagine it looks good for young thug.

For those who viewed the video evidence, it is apparent there was no physical action between the two before the stabbing, no "threat of life" scenario claimed by the defense.

Of course they are going to steal that money. They know he’s going to be convicted now.

The fact that they are fine with allowing a public defender in lieu of talented legal counsel indicates to me two things. First, they know their little murderer's actions are indefensible, and secondly, they value money over the possibility of their son's receiving a lesser sentence.
Everything I've seen of this family says that they are disgusting amoral grifters.

And the scumbag "spokesman" of the killer (who I'm sure got a big piece of the GoFundMe pie), is falling back on the race card because he knows the kid is toast.

They know he’s guilty. That’s why they’re mischaracterizing the prosecution as racist. They’re scum.

Perhaps they want to use a PD in order to get a re-trial?

Given the fact that the family raised and then squandered a mountain of cash which was ostensibly for a legal defense fund, I don't see that happening, and besides, I am left with the impression that no one in this family is capable of thinking two seconds ahead. They're impulsive, and it seems they don't take the advice of counsel. They do just whatever they want to do.

An "Indigent Packet" was submitted to the Collin County Court on junior killer's behalf. According to my research, the person charged (or their representatives), must submit a sworn affidavit that they lack sufficient funds for legal counsel, and beyond the affidavit the court may require documents supporting such a claim.
Of course, I am not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV, so perhaps I am mistaken.
Either they blew through all that money, or they are trying to hide whatever is left after the Escalade and fancy sneakers and the Courvoisier and whatever. If the court discovers such a deception, it might end up that the little murderer isn't the only member of the family behind bars.

I would LOVE to see the judge ask what happened to the money and deny it.

If they can prove that they're truly broke, I don't think the judge would deny it, or even be legally allowed to do so, but this raises the glaring question of where all that publicly raised cash went, which was supposed to be for a defense fund. This is a real problem for this family, because it confirms what their detractors have been saying about them. Then again, maybe they're so low and greedy that they really don't care how this looks. After all, that would be the kind of people who would raise someone who would murder over nothing.
