I would like to point out to Anthony's supporters that Metcalf's father managed to leave a space where he wasn't wanted without stabbing anyone. However, I doubt they would "get it."

Par for the course in the race baiting, poverty pimp game. Very few attended seminary, off the top of my head can't think of any who actually graduated seminary, and nearly all have shady "ordinations."

Jesse Jackson never graduated seminary (given an "honorary" MDiv 34 years after dropping out of seminary) and he never was on a church staff. He was also ordained despite never being on a church staff. I like to play trivia with Jesse Jackson supporters and it's only 2 trick questions:
  • Name the seminary where he graduated?
  • Name any church current or past where he was a reverend?

The sad thing is that Jesse Jackson is more qualified than Al Sharpton. Al Charletan was "ordained" at 9 or 10 years old, dropped out of Brooklyn College after 2 years, and never attended seminary.

Karmelo Anthony's mouth piece, Minister Dominique Alexander, is a real piece of work:
  • Convicted of shaking and hitting a 2-year old, but only received probation
  • Violated probation (i.e. indicted for forgery and traveling out of state w/o permission), but only served 8 days in jail.
  • Arrested on felony theft
  • Indicted on felony assault in a domestic violence case
  • I can't find anything on attending seminary or his "ordination"

Yeah, at this point, I have to ask- how stupid are these people? Did they not know about this piece of shit, or did they know and they're OK with it? Either way...

The Anthony family hired a defense attorney team that could speak on their behalf, yet they chose a poor-man's Al Sharpton to represent them. Any sympathy and benefit of the doubt I had remaining for Karmelo pretty much evaporated when I heard that race hustler speak at the Anthony's press conference.

Are you suggesting Austin Metcalf's father killing Karmelo to be an appropriate response?

I wonder if the same forces that rallied to liberate the guilty through threat of violence and grievance culture before, will similarly rally with increasing intensity to redeem Karmelo. Already the roles of perpetrator and victim are being reversed. Now the case is being made that the murderer is the victim through sophistry, deception, distorted logic and pseudo grievance. Is the public conflicted enough to believe it?

    Except for around 20%, No.

Plus, the 20% believed it before it ever happened.

It'd be curious to see if rioters come to Frisco in the event of a conviction (or even a mistrial). I would expect the usual bussed in malcontents. Not really much here to destroy beyond homes and a few restaurants. The police and most residents here are pretty well armed up.

Were that to come to pass, I'd be more curious to see how many made it back out alive.

Will the trial be in Frisco or McKinney where he was arrained?

Not sure where the Collin County Courthouse is but the crime was in Collin County. ETA: The county courthouse is in McKinney.

As someone surmised earlier, that sham of a 'press conference' was an obvious attempt to get a change of venue or an eventual mistrial. So who knows where it'll wind up.

There will definitely be a change of venue, and the suspect's attorneys will look toward blue-leaning counties like Harris (Houston), Bexar (San Antonio) and Travis (Austin).

Suspect in Austin Metcalf killing moved to 'undisclosed location' for protection

The 17-year-old suspected of stabbing Frisco, Texas track star Austin Metcalf to death has been moved to an “undisclosed location” for his own safety, according to a group representing his family.

A statement from the Next Generation Action Network (NGAN) said that Karmelo Anthony has been moved from his home to an “undisclosed location to ensure his immediate safety” following an “alarming increase in death threats, continued harassment, and physical intimidation targeted at the family’s home.”

Anthony allegedly killed Metcalf over a seating dispute during a high school track meet in Frisco on April 2. He was freed from the Collin County Jail after his bond was reduced from $1 million to $250,000 last Monday. He is charged with first-degree murder.

According to the release, the threats include people loitering and taking photos of the Anthony family’s current residence, unwanted food deliveries that NGAN said were “made to disturb and harass the family” and a mailing of Metcalf’s obituary to the home, which was also described as “disturbing.”

“We are sharing images and documentation of the threats the family has faced this past weekend to make the public aware of the dangerous atmosphere that has been created — an atmosphere fueled by organized hate, systemic racism, and intentional misinformation,” the group said.
