http://www.wmcactionnews5.com/...&utm_campaign=buffer MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Three fake officers pulled a woman over and robbed her at gunpoint in Whitehaven, according to Memphis Police Department. The incident happened on Elvis Presley Boulevard just after 11:30 a.m. on Monday. Officers said the imposters drover a blue cargo van and a black Dodge Charger. Both vehicles were equipped with police lights in their front windows. Two suspects approached the woman's vehicle, and one of them grabbed the victim by her shirt sleeve. Police said the woman tried to reach for her gun in the center console, but another suspect stopped her and grabbed her Smith and Wesson handgun, her wallet, and $452 in cash. One of the suspects then pulled the victim out of her car and had her on the ground at gunpoint, according to MPD. Police said the suspects contemplated taking the victim's car, but decided to leave the scene in their vehicles instead. The victim told police all the suspects were dressed in black baseball caps with "Police" written in white letters, black t-shirts with "Police" in white letters, and black cargo pants. Both suspects also had full gun belts and badges. No arrests have been made at this time. Memphis Police Department said citizens should check to make sure the lights in the car trying to pull you over are white and blue. They also said you should be sure to pull over in a heavily populated, well-lit area. _________________________ "Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it." Reaching for a gun...
White and Blue??? This website says otherwise: Tennessee Police Use Blue or Blue and Red Combo Emergency Lights http://www.extremetacticaldyna...-statutes/tennessee/ Tennessee law enforcers are permitted to use blue or blue and red combo police lights according to state statute 55-9-414(a)(1). The statute also permits law enforcement in Tennessee to use flashing white, red, or combo white/red lights. And how many here have been told to stop immediately and not where you think you should?

Seem's odd the way it is explained. I have suspicions. "Fake" and not impersonating? I don't know. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

I was looking for the original press release on this to see how it was worded. I couldn't find it, but came across this jewel on their Facebook page dated July 23...... Please be advised: Erroneous information pertaining to the Memphis Police Department has been circulating throughout social media regarding MPD and ICE. Apparently, ICE has recently been conducting operations in the Memphis area, and it has been inaccurately reported that the Memphis Police Department was involved in those investigations. Thus far, two incidents have been brought to our attention. One incident involving ICE reportedly occured July 14, 2017 in which ICE conducted a traffic stop. MPD had no knowledge of this incident and was NOT present. A second incident reportedly occurred this morning on Morlye Place located in the Prescott Place Apartments. Again, the Memphis Police Department was NOT present. ICE is an independent agency and not affiliated with the Memphis Police Department. The MPD has NOT, and will not, conduct any investigations concerning immigration laws. Again, we have not been involved in any ICE operations. For information pertaining to any incident involving ICE, please contact the ICE public relations department at (504)310-8887.
