Wait, what? |
The problem is that there is a whole segment of society that has empowered generations of criminal activity; not only do they not teach their kids/grandkids that criminal behavior is bad for society, they actually do the opposite. They are helping put their children into coffins and looking for someone other than themselves to blame. “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown

I teach in a public HS and I do just that. I tell my students that you are not going to win an argument on the side of the road. You can however make everything exponentially worse for yourself. I don't see why this is unexpected. The family knows he was a shitbird, but bad precedents have been set. They know all they have to do is stand in front of some cameras and talk about how good their little boy was and the city will throw the officers involved under the bus and give them more money than they could ever possibly make in their lives to go away. I hate the situation, but city leadership all over the country has set the stage for this. "The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people." "Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy." "I did," said Ford, "it is." "So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?" "It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want." "You mean they actually vote for the lizards." "Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course." "But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?" "Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."
