hrayFor you guys that still have hair, How much you paying for a basic haircut?
I paid $35 today, plus I gave him a $10 tip for what I think is a basic cut.
I haven't had a go to Barber in a long while. I will go to a place for a while but then the guy I like leaves or they move the shop. I'll be 55 this month and as a kid my Mom would give me $5 and I would ride my bike up to the local Barber shop get a hair cut from Julio and a Jamaican patty next door. Julio cut my hair until I went in the Navy, cut it when I got out, and cut my sons hair until he (Julio) died about ten years ago or so. Never had to tell Julio how I wanted it just sat down and he started cutting and we talked about life, my kids, the VW bug I drove in high school, and etc. Julio ended up with Cancer and still came in to cut hair. Colostomy bag, shaky hands, I didn't care he was my Barber.
Sorry about my memory lane. What you guys paying?

Paddy314There are a couple of old school barbers still cutting hair around here. They charge $15-$20. I always tip $5 and pay in cash.

jaaron11My hair flew the roost a while back, but my son gets his hair cut by a local salon that only charges $10. I think I probably paid more than that 20 years ago.

Graniteguy$35 plus $6-7 tip. The owner cuts my hair. Old school with straight edge clean-up at the end. Free beers in the fridge and the obligatory golden retriever barber shop mascot. Pre-covid that same haircut was $20.

WaterburyBobMy barbershop charges $20 for a basic haircut.
They charge $15 for seniors; that applies to me. I give him $20 when I go.
There's a salon nearby that charges $35 for a standard cut.

71 TRUCKI currently have long hair in a pony tail, with that said my last hair cut was around the end of 2023 or beginning 2024.
The guy I go to had been cutting my hair about every 6 to 8 weeks. He would cut my hair, trim my nose hair, ear hair, eyebrows and use a straight razor to clean up the back and sides of my neck and around my ears.
At the time he charged me $30 to $35 dollars plus I always gave him a $10 dollar tip.
He did a great job and it was worth every penny.
We would always talk about whatever was going on in the world and he took his time so it took him about 30 minutes.

SpudgunFive dollars at the barber college. It takes 2-3 times as long but the cut is 2-3 times better.

BigSwedeI haven't had an old school barber shop cut since I was a kid in the 70's
After many a trial and error I now go to the local Sport Clips. I think it's about $25 plus tip, they have been the most consistent with my haircuts. I rarely get the same lady twice

konata88Simple crew / buzz cut $30 + $10 tip. Local, non-chain barbershop. I think price is higher for more complicated hairstyles. Includes shaving hair at bottom rear / neck but I opt out. Kinda scared of razors unless I’m holding them.

PR64For a haircut and beard trim it’s $25. I give a $5 tip.
I’m mostly bald so it’s a #1 on my head and #2 on my face.
