The Amazon product page the video references has an 80% 4+ star rating with a lot of comments in the 20% of 1 to 3 star ratings that the pouch doesn't work for their auto.

OKCGeneThat works, but it takes time to grab the frequencies and get a fob made and go back to find the vehicle again. If the vehicle was parked in a one time location, they may never find it again. I have no idea how many frequencies there may be, but knowing manufacturers they won't have that many.
Apparently there's an even newer and far more sophisticated way to grab the vehicle and drive off.
The thieves have a hand held repeater. It will be Duplex (2 frequency capable). As the bad guy gets close to the vehicle the repeater will grab the frequencies and retransmit them, the fob talks to the vehicle and the vehicles talks back to the fob, and boom just like that the door opens and the engine is started in a flash. The thief is able to drive off in seconds. Just understand the thieves repeater device must be near the vehicle to make this work, unlock the door and start it.
The drawback of that one is, since the thief doesn't have a fob, they can't stop and restart the vehicle, so they have to go straight to the location where they either strip down the vehicle for parts, or put it in a container for shipment someplace else. Or they can, if they parked it in a place where it won't be found, gaining time, then they have time to make a fob.
Thieves are ingenious. Every time a new security feature comes out they will defeat it.
Bastards need to be jailed and never see freedom again. Ever.

smschulzThe vid says that there 67% of all cars have it but can you get rid of it and put in a key type or is it possible to buy a car with out it?
Don't think it is that great of a feature to have in a car for me anyway.
Manual transmission however seems to work on occasion as a deterrent.

Mars_AttacksThat truck was days old. Someone at the dealership had to be in on it.

darthfusterWow that’s too easy. You’d think the big brain boys who design these cars would have anticipated this.

Bingo!
Good thing I still have to get in and start my truck with that metal thingy.
That and I made an RFID starter lockout relay.

1s1kThe common way now is with the repeater. If you park your car outside someone with a repeater can walk up to your car and just hop in and go because it can intercept your signal from the remote in the house.
I park my car in the garage so it’s not a problem but I use a faraday bag when out and about. It was such a problem with Hellcats that Dodge has offered to flash your computer to add a second check before it can be driven off. You have to punch in a code like you do before using your phone.

radiomanon newer cars, can you just install a $4 kill switch in series with the ignition and hidden under the dash like in the old days?
my uncle had one under the dash. He just had to remember to enable it and disable it when he parked.

sunburnInstall a hidden switch that grounds the fuel pump. That will slow down thieves.
