Indictment Unveiled As Chinese Espionage Reaches Federal Reserve A former senior Federal Reserve official has been indicted for allegedly providing China with confidential economic data, marking one of the most serious espionage cases involving the U.S. financial system. Federal authorities arrested John Harold Rogers, 63, accusing him of conspiring with Chinese intelligence officers while working as an economic adviser for the Federal Reserve. According to the Justice Department, Rogers exploited his high-level position at the Fed between 2010 and 2021 to access restricted financial information. Beginning in at least 2018, he allegedly funneled sensitive data to Chinese operatives under the guise of teaching at a university in China.
