Circa 1998 there was a little one-man gun shop just up the street from me. I bought one gun - a Colt Python - from him. One day I read in the newspaper - I still read them in those days - that the place had been robbed and he was knocked over the head unconscious and left tied up, after which understandably he went out of business. At least nobody was in the stores these assholes knocked over.

So, the thugs went from one store to the other?

It's terribly sad. A retail gun shop seems like a difficult way to make a living these days.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Appears that neither store had protective bollards in front of the doors, those would have helped stop any vehicles from being used to smash the big LGS here has them imagine it's a bit expensive though, cheaper than replacing the front of the building.

Were guns taken? Or just “expensive items” as reported? I see long guns on the wall that apparently were not interesting enough to grab? It seems like a bad idea to leave any firearms out in the open after closing time- even a reinforced locked room is better than leaving guns in display cabinets or in walls.

These are just two of my local Gun Shops. Range USA was formerly Shoot Point Blank. They have a very large stock, indoor range and teach a CCW corse. What a shame. Triggers is smaller but a nice little shop with all new guns. I have been in there talking to a young lady, perhaps 19 years old who builds her own ARs. Very knowledgable girl. I sold my P227, givin to me by 12131 years back to Triggers out of need for money. It nearly prompted me to never return to Sig Forum out of shame. We all know Q so yall would understand my feelings.

Quite a few did, but the gangs scope out the places and then use cellphone apps to measure the distance between the bollards. Then they steal a car that will fit between the bollards or planters. That is what happened several gun story "drive through" burglaries in the St. Louis area a couple years ago (Osage County Guns in Wright City was one of the places).

Most gun stores in Houston have bollards out front and bars on windows. A few years back some enterprising thieves stole a tow truck and tore the bars off without ever having to deal with the bollards.

Other thieves pick one guy to be the stunt man and they jump the stolen car over the bollards and through the front door or windows.

There were two gun store robberies here about 3 years ago, one convict type & 2 younger females. They got a handful of guns from each, then were caught, senseless.

They damaged both shops fairly bad. As we know, most any gun shop has various levels of electronic security. Some guns were never recovered.

time to deploy the FBI - sound like this is something they might be able to tackle

they won't solve it of course, but it will keep them occupied until they can fabricate another crime

Two more gun stores on the east side of Cincinnati were hit last night. Both attempts were unsuccessful, the bollards did their job.
