Looking for the best way to wirelessly charge my iPhone 7 Plus
Anyone here wirelessly charging a cell that is not Qi ready? I’d like
To get away from plugging my cell in every time to charge. I know there are some cases available and some pads. I think it would be nice to have the option to plug in if I wanted to or a charge pad was not available.

What are you using and/or suggest?

Thank you in advance.

Bought a Qi lightning charger and put it inside an Otterbox.

Stuffed some coils under the console padding, behind picture frames, and underneath the desk mat. Basically everywhere I used to put the phone has a coil under it now and the phone always has a full charge whenever I go somewhere.

The coils are about $5 if you shop around.

I have a charger pad that I put on my phone under the otterbox but I guess it’s too thick.

Not sure if this would help your progress, but check the wattage of your charger. Mine are 10W coils and charge through about 1/4 inch of various materials (not including the Otter). Plastic, vinyl, glass, wood, etc... works with no problems. The one in the truck leaves a 1/8 inch gap between the console and the phone, so direct contact is not an issue.

I don't have a dedicated charger pad or base station of any kind, so I can't give any recommendations for a brand or type of charger. Only other thing that I can think of is for you to check the alignment of your coils allowing for the induction and capacitance coupling process to work.

If it matters, I am charging an iPhone 6s

They make cases with the qi charger installed in them, to add the wireless charging ability, or you can add a coil under most cases if you prefer your own style.

I shall respect you until you open your mouth, from that point on, you must earn it yourself.

My AT&T store recommended the Samsung charging pad, has worked perfectly for me.

If I recall correctly, wireless charging started with the iPhone 8. Therefore, an iPhone 7 would need a special case for wireless charging or you have to roll your own by adding a coil to a case. Here is an example (not an endorsement, just an example) of a wireless charging case for an iPhone 7.

You are correct. I found that I had a metal plate on the back of my case that prevented to coil from working.

Most charging pads I find in stores are 5V.

I have this YooTech for my iPhone X. It has 3 charge modes - 5W, 7.5W (iPhone X), and 10W (Samsungs). I like that it's a stand instead of a pad as I can see the screen, and it works with phone sideways (nice if you want to charge and watch something) or vertical.
