The CCI .22LR shot shell also works well from a Ruger American bolt action rifle, and provides killing power at a greater distance than from a revolver. I have the compact model, which has an 18" bbl, adjustable notch rear and fiber optic front sights.
With the shot shells, one does not have to be quite as precise aiming like a pellet gun would require.

David LeeThat break barrel .177 is a good choice. I've shot that same scope. It's not perfect but it works. You'll need one of those hand held grabbers and plastic WalMart bags to dispose of them so they don't stink up the property. Good hunting Q..

I have had a Webley Tempest since the late 70's.
I had forgotten it in the safe until I read your post. Makes me want to go drag it out and exercise it if I could.Unfortunately its a BB/Pellet gun and illegal in Chicago.Far to lethal to have in this very law abiding Chicago community.Like many other weapons I had it was lost in the horrible boating accident out on Lake Michigan's deepest section.

I didn't know that. Looked at the size difference and didn't think to try. I'll have to give them a go in my Ruger Mark IV.

Does someone make reduced power shotshell loads? I've only see full power and those are loud!

This has me curious as well. I've see some labeled as birdshot. Always thought they were all the same thing except for verbiage.

MikeinNCNaw, Speer makes a blue and a red shotshell. The difference is the size of the shot.
Blue-#12 shot
Red-#4shot
