Does anyone here have experience with the new Marantz Cinema line of AVRs, specifically the Cinema 50? Considering one to run a home theater setup, with future possibility of running the B channel pre-outs to powered monitors for stereo music. Just another schmuck in traffic - Billy Joel

I am familiar with the unit but do not own one. A general assumption is that you should be able to connect the stereo speakers to the pre-amp out. Don't know what your configuration might need but I imagine the answer might be able to be dug out of the manual: https://manuals.marantz.com/CINEMA50/NA/EN/index.php

Thanks. Also hoping to hear some users’ experience with them, any problems, etc. Just another schmuck in traffic - Billy Joel

Do you just want a "B" connection independent of the AVR setup jut to play 2-channel either in the same room or elsewhere? That is something I am going to configure on my Anthem setup but haven't got around to it.

I have a Marantz SR8000 home theater receiver that I have been using daily for 25 years. If it ever gives out I will replace it with another Marantz! I have a few SIGs.

That is one goal, yes. Also need to upgrade my current receiver as it lacks many current basics, such as HDMI connections. Just another schmuck in traffic - Billy Joel

I've been using a Marantz SR8002 for a handful of years and love it. As a brand I've always liked the sound and dependability.

You really can't go wrong with Marantz. I have several friends I bough used Marantz Amp Receiver and they are all happy. I have been using the Preamp Marantz AV7704 Made IN Japan. ___________________ "He who is without oil, shall throw the first rod" Compressions 9.5:1

Marantz is on most everybody's short lost for higher end AV. I certainly considered it but went Anthem (preamp) for reasons on another day. Good Stuff - you just need to compare features, price, performance as it suits the individual. Comparison of Marantz vs: https://boomspeaker.com/anthem-vs-marantz/ https://boomspeaker.com/denon-vs-marantz/ https://boomspeaker.com/marantz-vs-yamaha/ https://boomspeaker.com/marantz-vs-onkyo/ https://boomspeaker.com/marantz-vs-emotiva/ AV has always been a fun topic for me, back in the day when it was mostly audio - Marantz was considered "upper mid-fi" > pretty good for most everybody. Today they are more of a higher end AV company - not on the uber-expensive scale or super-nit-picking-quality but pretty dang good nonetheless. You can't go wrong with a Marantz as a starting point but like any deployment there are a lot of other factors that make for a really good performing setup.

I have the only Marantz AVR built in Japan that runs my HT. It does 7.2.4. Bought in 2019 so obviously not the current model but it was their top of the line powered AVR in 2019. It’s been fantastic. I installed the fan on top of it (aftermarket) the minute I got it to take care of any heat. It’s been flawless, as have the updates they have made to it OTA. Have not had a single firmware update to it or my Denon in the MB (they own them too, same parent co) cause an issue. It was the single most expensive piece in my HT rivaling my panel cost and worth every dime. It was the key, along with the DV panel that does inky blacks, to getting better than cineplex quality at home. In 5+ years from now if I make any upgrades I will migrate to dedicated amps and when that time comes I will stick with Marantz, just whatever non-powered AVR they offer at the time. What am I doing?
