My point earlier is that the FBI should move very fast. If Ford's lawyers want to play games and not make her available, that should be made known.

The DEMs won't be happy w just a week delay. At some point McConnell will need to meet w Flake, Collins, and Murkowski and say this is the best we've got.

Sdy I completely agree. The only thing we have is “hey we tried it your way” and see if they go along.

Too many ways to screw up the timetable and I honestly think Flake and Merkowski are a no either way. Pin down Collins and work the vulnerable dems.

Seriously, who cares? She just testified for hours to a senate committee in front of millions. The FBI has all they need from her. She and her lawyers know the time line agreed to. Let them crow.

Flake and the republicans agreed to a timetable, no one else. And while I agree we have all the statements we need, they were not given to the FBI. Flake and co. want the statements to be given to them. They are literally making the FBI and everyone else jump through hoops for the same information. If the current statements were acceptable we wouldn’t be doing this.

As pissed as I am of what happened today, and until it happens otherwise, I will have faith in the FBI field agents who will carry out this "investigation" within the time frame. This is still the FBI, guys, not the wishy washy congress critters that Ford and her lawyers can play catch-me-if-you-can-I'm-having-my-last-menstrual-period game with. You don't get to dictate your terms to the FBI. So, let's settle down a bit.

Unfortunately enough of the people who do get a vote seem to care.

Again this isn't cynicism or "sky is falling" talk. It is simply my opinion based on the weeks of stalling I have seen and the fact that I know all they want is to stall as long as they can. They may not succeed in stalling longer than the one week but if there is not a vote next Friday I will not be all that surprised.

I don’t believe the FBI will have the opportunity for a full interview with the Ms. Ford. Her Lawyers will make her unavailable for various reasons including she went into drug rehab, is having a nervous breakdown, doesn’t do interviews during the October month, is afraid of FBI agents and black Crown Vic’s circling the neighborhood, she’s sponsoring a Metoo movement for Cats. The list is endless. They’ll never interview her in a weeks time. Her Lawyers will delay, delay, delay..

I am having trouble imagining any rational individual who would want to go through this mess to become a Supreme Court Justice.
