BeancookerBest beard trimmers I have ever used.
Preface, I have used a lot of beard trimmers. Remington, wahl, Andis... the list goes on. This isn’t my first pair of good beard trimmers. I have a lot of experience with them.
So I go see my barber this morning. She gives me a good high and tight. She’s pretty meticulous and a great barber. After she takes the standard clippers without guard to my head, she hits it with a second trimmer, then a foil, then straight razor. It’s really one of the best haircuts I have ever had.
So the trimmer she used before the foil, after the clippers. It intrigued me as it cut so incredibly short. So much less than I would have thought. I asked to see them, and damn, they were nice. She said it has one of the best brushless motors on the market, and high torque. No issues with thick hair, it blows right through it.
I tell her I may head over to Sally Beauty and check out what they have, as my clippers are missing a tooth on the guard. Cuts the hell out if you if you’re not careful.
She gave me her pro discount number at Sally and said to use it. (I always tip her really well, so this was cool of her).
I go check out the trimmers, and reluctantly ask to see these. They’re $155. I check them out and it’s the same as she had. I feel like it’s too much to spend on beard trimmers. The associate asks me if I have a Sally card, and I told her a pro number. She puts it in, and tells me my out the door price is right at $90.
Sold.
If you’re interested, I bought the BaBylissPRO Silver FX trimmer. They had some gaudy rose gold and gold ones, but I was content with the silver.
So evidently the electric motor is designed by Ferrari. That made zero influence in me buying them, but I thought it was kind of cool. I bought them because of how damn good they did on my melon, and that Mary recommended them so highly.
I have to say, they are pretty awesome. Definitely worth the money spent.
I’ll have to buy Mary a gift card for sure. Or something nice. She was quite a help to me.

I cannot go to my barber three times a week. I just don’t have the time, or the money.

just1tymI purchased this Remington based on some reviews in a thread here a few years back and it's worked like a charm, so I'll give it a 2-thumbs up based on the recommendations!

mrvmaxBeancooker, does the head adjust for different lengths or is it to trim the edges of the beard? I have a cheap one now with different plastic guards depending on the length you want but it’s terrible at getting clean edges.

BeancookerIt comes with four comb attachments to select length. It also comes with a blade gap adjustment guide and tool.
Without the combs, it gives the cleanest edges I have ever had. The zero gap is awesome. The blade is set to the same length as the steel guard (teeth). It is amazing how crisp the lines are.
Comb lengths are 1/16”, 1/8”, 3/16”, 1/4”.
