Looking at 6-12 inches of snow with 40+ mph winds. A good portion of I-70 is already closed from Salina Kansas to nearly the Colorado border.

I lucked out and didn’t have to work last night, tonight might be a different story though.

Be safe out there folks.

Heck we were in lovely Salina KS last month and they had a bit of snow, but it sounds like it’s really coming down!

Moved out of MO 19yrs ago. Initially missed the change in seasons and snow. But after 18yrs in the tropics and mid Florida - well you can keep it with the tornados, ice storms and what not.
I’ll still with the occasional hurricane, 1/2 yr humidity, and bugs. Lots and lots of bugs.

But seriously, keep warm!

Snow’s coming down, wind’s blowing, and there’s a field about 50 yards behind my house that I can’t see anymore.

The Kansas city area has already seen single digit temps this month. I think we are in for an interesting winter.

We caught just a bit of that storm tonight. Cold and windy but very little snow. You folks stay safe up north.

Eastern Iowa is getting hammered, I'm guessing 8" already and it's still coming down. Funny, that's exactly what they've been predicting for three days!

I'm west of DeKalb, IL by a few miles, all the roads are closed and they gave up plowing until the shit stops. Heavy winds and anticipated accumulation here of between 8 and 12-1/2 inches by morning. I just got in from helping a neighbor park his Suburban -- 4WD and a 6" lift and he needed help!

Only one of this small town's plow trucks got out tonight, and now he's stuck sideways, blocking the main street. Doesn't really matter since nobody is driving.

It's real heavy, slippery snow, hard to lift and impossible to drive in. I've been in much worse accumulation without a problem, but tonight I'm happy to be home.

Catching it east of Chicago in NW Indiana. School closed, blowing and drifting. Usually we get the lake-effect headed down from the NW but this system is moving NE.

I am supposed to have an interview in the Detroit area next week at the Macomb County Medical Examiners Office.

When we scheduled it I told them it would be dependent on the weather.

I have gotten soft being away from Ohio all these years.

We were discussing the weather from Salinas KS to the Colorado line. That is one reason the girlfriend doesn't want to move to Kansas. She will because she knows I really want to work in LE out there but she won't be happy about it.

My parents had the same. Two foot drifts on driveway.

Y’all had it a lot worse than we did.
We got about 3”, then it switched to rain for about 4 hours, then switched back to snow for another 4” or so.

Thank God for snowblowers, as it was some heavy-ass snow

Good luck! We have yet to have any significant snowfall this year. Only a few light coatings.
