pbslingerSomething odd while shopping for groceries today with the price of eggs
One of the ladies staying at my friend's in the keys bought fancy eggs for $7.99 a dozen, she bought 4 dozen. I restocked for $7.99 for 18, but I think they are smaller.

95flhrI have some friends that raise chickens for commercial egg production. Feed prices are up, fuel prices are up, transportation prices are up. Someone’s got to pay for the cost increases, unfortunately it’s the consumer.

I put a light on a timer in my coop to keep the light similar to that of summer. Seems to be working as my hens are still pooping them out every day, even in below zero weather with 8-10 hours of natural daylight. I just have to make sure I get out there to get them before they freeze/crack.

BlackmoreSome sort of weird pricing anomaly last month at the local regional chain grocery store. The cheapest eggs were Jumbo browns with a Feb 3 date for $2.99/dozen. Bought a bunch for Christmas baking and general consumption.
