FWIW Poland remains our strong ally despite the previous administration's efforts to break that bond.

And they're one of the few countries that contribute what they owe to NATO.

Yes, it appears to be one of the few places in Europe where government has its head screwed on straight and feels no need to pander to whining leftists.

So, may God bless them and watch over them.

Maybe Italy now too, with the “5-Star Movement” (leftist-populist), and “League” (more conservative) coalition government. Both are anti-migrant, and anti-EU.

Poland needs and apreciates a big strong ally, being next door to Russia all these years and suffering a great deal because of it.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

freakin' Poles. They have no natural barriers, no oceans, no broad deserts, no mountains, all they have is courage and pride. Their Uhlan cavalry, that's horse cavalry by the way, fought German tanks because that's all they had, that and broken alliance with western Europe. Then they got traded away to the ussr, and after that they stand up on their hind legs and declare they are still Poles and proud of it. What's not to like?

I have a soft spot in my heart for the Poles. God bless them indeed. I wonder how many of us could endure what they've had to.

Not sure I'd use the word owe, more like investing their fair share.

You'd think Germany with their early-20th century guilt would step-up to the plate and be good neighbors, instead they've defunded their military. None of their submarines able to get out to sea, their new frigate (really a destroyer) is fraught with manufacturing defects, an Army that's sold-off nearly all it's tanks and a air force with barely enough functioning planes.

5 yrs ago I bought Mrs. DF a yarn spinning wheel. Not wanting an el cheapo Chinese piece o' junk, I chose a company in Poland that hand makes each one. What beautiful piece of craftsmanship that turned out to be. She uses it at least 4 times a week and with no discernable wear, I expect it to last generations. If most of Polish products are similar, I may have been born in the wrong country......okay maybe not. Big Grin

Well, we did kill off a good portion of the German 'warfare expert' DNA... Not much around to grow more warriors...

Germany is but a shadow now, neutered and impotent, which is how Europe prefers them.

Interesting; according to the info babe, Islam is a race? Strange, I thought it was a religion.

So banning Muslims (I.E.; followers of the Profit) is Racist. I don't get it, exactly what race are they?

Methinks, Racist has become a synonym for: "I don't like you" to the progs.

I love that man. Finally, a politician other than PRESIDENT Trump and VP Mike Pence with some common sense. As an aside, I know a fella who is a world traveler and he says there are two countries in Europe he feels safe in, Poland and I forget the other one.
