Present! Smile

Never did a 3 point landing in the Harrier. Now, if you wanna talk about 4 point landings... Wink

Some nights behind the boat would lead me to 'squeezing the black out of the stick' while we were going down the approach up to the 'ball call'. In my case as a NFO, I held on tightly to a black 'oh shit' handle while the pilot battled for all he/she was worth to make the ILS/ACLS needles obey until the 'ball' came into view to fly the rest visually (sort of).

Off the coast of Somalia in '07 was the worst. No cultural lighting from the coast, just black as motherfucking shit sky and ocean for as far as you could not see. Could lead to some serious vertigo for me and I was VERY thankful for the 800 feet per minute 'crash' and slowdown on the carrier flight deck.

I didn't give a fuck if it was a 1, 2, or 3 point landing - just one that came to a full and rapid stop. Wink

^^^

Becoming an "instant test pilot", was not covered in the mission brief.

I hate it when that happens.

Trust me, I've "squeezed the black" out of some sticks in the front cockpit too. Big Grin

Nine touch-and-goes a few weeks ago in the C172. Most went like this: land on three individual points, one-by-one, until the plane stops flying.

I'm perfectly fine with every landing described in this thread, thus far. Big Grin
