I dig the styling. Congrats on the new ride.

Yesterday was Veterans Day so I drove my G70 to the National Veterans Memorial atop Mt. Soledad, a beautiful and venerable site. The Christian cross is visible from miles around. The California Democrats have spent years trying to get the cross removed, but it still stands proudly. The trip up and down was entertaining. A 50/50 front/rear weight distribution has its rewards. The G70’s exhaust note is refined, but pleasingly throaty. I think Genesis hired a top-notch Italian design team for the body shape. I wish Genesis had hired a top-notch team of American tech writers for the user manual. But they didn’t. Serious about crackers

Just looked that G70 up. Man that seems like a really smart buy compared to my new RS5. If I knew it existed I would have at least test drove it. The RS5 emphasizes luxury SPORT sedan, where the Genesis seems to emphasize it equally across luxury/sports. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

The G70 has a feature that I didn’t know existed on any car. Its navigation map is continuously updated via satellite. If a road is temporarily closed for resurfacing the navigation system soon knows of it and will modify my routes to avoid it. In my previous cars the navigation map got updated only every two or three years when I went to the trouble (and expense) to do that. The continuous (and free) updates will be so much better. In addition, the satellite communication link is free as long as I own the car. E.g., remote car start, and automatic accident notification. If I still lived in Minnesota I’d’ve loved remote car start – imagine getting into a warm car when the outdoor temperature is -10 °F. Heaven! Not so much benefit in San Diego though. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Pipe Smoker, Serious about crackers

In my vehicle, and I believe in many new GM vehicles with nav systems, the navigation map is powered by Google and shows real-time traffic conditions. Very similar to what you would see if using Google Maps on a smartphone or connected tablet. It's the best, easiest to use, nav system that I have found on any car to date (of course, there are many that I haven't tried yet). הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

Waze, for me. On my phone, mounted to the dash, in the Mini/Midget & via AndroidAuto in our bus [Expedition]. The Enemy's gate is down.

I swear I had something for this |
To get it using factory nav systems without some kind of subscription (usually SiriusXM) is pretty rare, but if you're using Apple Carplay or Android Auto, then the three maps available (Google/Apple/Waze) will show that with Apple being the worst of the three.

Pipe Smoker, Great looking car. I like the color! Sounds like you’re quite happy with it. It sure looks fun to drive! There’s something awesome about a turbocharged car. That feeling when the boost builds and it slams you back in the seat. The “lol” thread
