PASigTV Chef Anne Burrell Dead At 55
Man this stinks, I really liked her no-nonsense approach to cooking especially when it came to basics like knife skills.
It turns out we went to the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) at the same time, she was one year ahead of me and graduated in 1996. I could have run into her and never known that was a future cooking star.

P250UA5That's a bummer. I only ever saw her as a guest appearance, maybe on some of the G Ramsey shows.
We dropped cable so long ago, I don't recall what all I'd seen her in.

Erick85Her
roast turkey was our go to on Thanksgiving for years. Her shows were always fun to watch.

Forgot about that show.

EdmondUnlike a lot of the other celebrity chefs, she seemed to be more of a teacher and mentor than one to tear others down. She seemed down to earth compared to her peers.

Mars_AttacksI still haven't tried her meatball recipe.
It sounds amazing. Now I have to get on it.

Not announced as yet, but one site said she was found unconscious and unresponsive. I'll see if I can find the link.

Sounds like it may have been cardiac arrest/heart attack type thing. A friend was mentioned in a updated article this morning that says she was with her the night before and Burrell seemed to be in good spirits and had in fact just done a standup routine at a local comedy club in Brooklyn.

BeancookerHer sheet pan focaccia recipe is my go to. Her humor, wit, and overall demeanor will be missed.

furloughYeah, this sucks. I often put on the cooking/competition shows as background noise while cooking or reading.
She always seemed like a happy soul and ready to help anyone. RIP.

I won't post them here, but I saw someone post her Twitter pics getting the Covid shot and boosters when they came out, advocating for everyone else to do the same. Sad to say, she may be yet another who "died suddenly."

stickman428I’m sad to learn of her passing. I liked Anne’s passion for food and enjoyed her shows on the food network. Damn.

Forgot the link, but TMZ said cardiac arrest was cause of death, but why it happened will take an autopsy which will take place.

PASigShe always took my pet peeve of holding a chef's knife wrong to an extreme level and would draw on people's hands with a red sharpie in Worst Cooks to show them how to hold it properly so they don't cut their fingers off:

PASigWell, that’s not good

Report starting to come out that her body was found in or near the shower with “dozens of pills on the floor” around her.
