That is a great quote, but i've not seen many people driving around in Henry J's in my lifetime.

I remember them being popular in the late 1950s.

Sears sold a version, called the "Allstate."

Mr. Kaiser also said that he knew automobile manufacturing would be expensive, but he did not think 250 million dollars would disappear without a ripple.

His cars were less successful, but his shipyards built nearly 1500 ships during World War II.

One of my uncles had a Henry J auto during the late 50's to early 60's. Also remember they were popular for hot rodders to replace motors for drag racing (gasser class) on the drag strip. .............................. drill sgt.
