Trying to buy this week, gonna go water rower over the Rogue.

Which one did you buy, monorail? Monitor working well?

Assuming the S4 monitor is where it’s at.

I have had this for just over a year now and both the wife and I love it. Straight forward instructions and easy to assemble.

"The WaterRower Natural rowing machine is handcrafted in solid ash wood and features a Honey Oak stain finished in Danish oil. It features the S4 Performance Monitor."

I have one that looks just like that one that I have had for 10 or 15 years. The monitor works, but in reality the monitor is of little or no use. Get on it and row until you are finished live life full of happiness and joy.

My brother bought one from this place...

https://www.waterrower.com/

What model it is, I haven't the foggiest (wanna say the "Classic"), but he says he likes it.

I have a Concept2.

It's a staple in Gyms everywhere. There's a rowing studio near here (like spin class, with rowers) and they use Concept2 rowers. My CrossFit gym I used to go to also beat up on Concept2 rowers.

The Concept2 is sturdy, light, and easy to move and store. It's a little bit cheaper than an equivalent Water Rower.

I don't have any experience with the Water Rower, but my understanding is that it is quiet, and the water action is very enjoyable to use. It also has a premium/luxury aesthetic.

There are some ergo differences between the Concept2 and water rower, mostly pertaining to seat height and step over height.

I don't regret to the Concept2, but in retrospect, I could have traded out some perceived durability of an all mechanical machine for some improved aesthetic.

Eah, seen those threads, but I’m not in the market for a concept 2. And I wanted specific information as to which model water rower folks had, I’m torn between 1 and two rails and the monitor selection.

Didn't realize when reading the thread title and your OP that you were referring to the 'WaterRower' brand water rowers specifically. That said, those threads have feedback on more than just the Concept2 Rower, including numerous posts re: 'WaterRower' units. As you were looking for feedback for a short term decision, I thought those threads would be helpful in fulfilling that need.

I've got the Club model. Two rails and S4 monitor. The S4 is nothing to get excited about but it gives you basic info which is all I really care about. I recently added the bluetooth module so I could use the app to track my workouts.

I've owned both a Waterrower and a Concept 2 and would highly recommend the Concept 2 over the Water Rower.

The foot rests are WAY to close together on the Water Rower and it puts you in a strange posture when rowing.

The Concept 2 feels better, less maintenance, more rugged, lighter, and the foot rests are spaced apart.

I'd not buy a Water Rower again and love the Concept 2.

Enjoy it! Myself, I went with the Hydrow because it's quiet (I keep it in a spare shared office space), but thought very hard about the water row version. It's changed my life. Good luck with yours!

You want two rails it is much more stable, that is why only the low end model has a single rail.

I have a Club with the risers. I think it is the best look and fits my needs. I am 6’2” and the risers are a must. Unless you are going to keep it in one place and build a platform.

I don’t do much with the monitor. Just time and distance mainly so I don’t really care.

Interesting I am the complete opposite.
The concept is a machine and feels like a machine and is dull and boring. I don’t feel like I am working out on the Water Rower and go much longer and faster.

Not sure what maintenance you are referring to? I pop a tablet in the tank every six month and wipe down the rails on occasion.
That’s it.

I have a WaterRower M1 Hi Rise, with the S4 monitor. It meets my needs for a solid, at-home cardio workout.
