My sisters father in law has the above mentioned bike with 11,900 miles on it and he’s thinking of selling it. Do any of you guys have any experience with this model? I want to make sure it’s not known to be a lemon in case I buy it. Not sure yet as to the asking price. Thanks.

Great bikes. I had a 2005 Shadow Sabre, pretty much the same bike. They are only known for a couple of things going wrong. Mine had the stator/regulator go out, replaced them myself, very easy.

I’ve owned several Honda bikes, several different models. I’ve never known them to turn out a lemon.
The Shadows have always been solid bikes.

My mother-in-law had a Shadow 1100, of similar vintage, but not a Spirit.
Her & my father-in-law made many long trips together, her on the Shadow him on his Indian Scout.
Don't recall him ever mentioning any issues with it.

Honda Shadow 1100cc is a reliable bike. I had it in the early day in 04-05 time frame. I rode it pretty hard. It's a heavy bike for the beginner.
When cornering, just take it easy, will scrape the peg if you corner very hard on it.

Good lucks,

Its a solid model. I still have my 99 Shadow 1100 tourer I bought new and its still a great bike.

They're great bikes. I prefer them to the models with huge air cooled engines. Only "problem" is that they are carb, not FI.

Old school Honda quality .
