By Charles Hurt - The Washington Times - Wednesday, June 27, 2018 “Beware the coming civil war!” Coming? Oh, it’s already upon us. And it has been raging for some time now. The once-serious political party known as “Democrats” has been hijacked by lawless lunatics who have been sowing discontent and fomenting violence for years now. Just ask all the families of police officers in America who have been executed over the past four or five years by militants inspired by the so-called “Black Lives Matter” movement. This would be the same movement that Democratic leaders are terrified of standing up to. When their last standard bearer — Hillary Clinton — made the grave error of declaring that “all lives matter,” she later issued an apology and a correction. After a lifetime in politics, you would think that the woman might understand that political rhetoric has consequences. Yes, this civil war is upon us. Or ask all the American families who have suffered murder, dismemberment and terror at the hands of MS-13 gang members who streamed across the broken border. A border that the Democratic Party — back when it was still a serious outfit — agreed should exist. A little more than a decade ago, Democratic leaders such as Mrs. Clinton, her husband, and former President Barack Obama all supported, argued for and voted for a physical barrier along the border to keep illegal aliens — especially violent gang members — from sneaking into the country. Now, according to leadership all up and down the Democratic Party, holding such a position is somehow “racist” or xenophobic and certainly hateful. The entire party has abandoned any support for an enforced border, seeking instead to score cheap political points at the cost of American security. As a result, there is an invasion at our southern border and the only “rights” Democrats care about any more are those of the illegal aliens sneaking across the border. Yes, this civil war is upon us. It is only getting worse. The Democrats just kicked out their fourth-ranking House member in favor of an avowed socialist who wants to abolish the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. Seriously? This, along with the increasingly heated rhetoric comparing ICE and Border Patrol agents to Nazis (yes, these kids are totally illiterate and never learned one minute of history), suggests this civil war is going to only get worse. Or just listen to the loudmouth leaders of the Democratic Party today, actually arguing that the president of the United States somehow does not have the authority — let alone constitutional responsibility by oath — to make sure America’s enemies do not infiltrate our country so that they can wage some barbaric jihad against American citizens. Yes, this civil war is upon us. Ask House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, who is still recovering from an assassination attempt by a disaffected Bernie Sanders supporter who plotted to kill dozens of members of Congress for being Republican. Yes, this civil war is upon us. And when you look around at Democratic leaders applauding and encouraging the open harassment of political opponents out in public, you know things are only going to get worse. Oh BS...there will not be a civil war and it certainly is not "upon" is. Proof: Trump won. And the sane ones of us quit listening to the loud mouth Dems years ago. _____________________________ Off finding Galt's Gulch

I do believe it is war and will continue to get more violent. It has been a war too. They hate conservatives. They are trying to do everything through the courts, federal and supreme courts, but when Trump won, that signaled to them that the courts would soon go the other way. They are fighting right now to get Trump thrown out of office after he was legally elected and look who is doing it. All the guys on the investigation committee are Hillary and Obama people. They are people who themselves have committed crimes. The war is on our values, religion, our nation and constitution as we know it and our history as a nation. Think about it, it is easy to see. Didn't some on the right fight to get Obama thrown out of office? Was that a war or a harbinger of one? Don't exaggerate. The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

In one sense, it has been raging for some time now. But it takes two to tango. The 'progressive' movement has been raging for over 100 years now. The widespread acceptance of socialist programs like public education social security and healthcare, the 16th and 17th amendments, the Federal Reserve Act and the corruption of the 'popular culture' are among their most obvious accomplishments. But it's not a full blown war yet. The other side has been winning the long game, fighting an incremental war, but most on our side are just starting to wake up to what has happened over the last 100+ years. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

"Some" on the right may have tried to get Obama thrown out, but I'm unable to think of any names or groups. It may have been a fringe element that - naturally - the media portrayed as representing all conservatives. On the other hand, it's Demokratic leaders - in collusion with the MSM and senior members of the Obama intel community - who are trying to get Trump thrown out. "Sore losers" is a phrase that comes to mind, just like when Bush II beat Gore.

If it is a war, they are about where the Germans were once the Allies started the breakout from the D-day beaches. I say take no prisoners, as the super liberals would burn us all at the stake if they could. Of course, first they would use chemical castration after the re-education programs did not work. -c1steve

Never served in the military but I'm pretty dang sure we're not in a war. Before people start writing (or thinking) that we're in a civil war they should read their history books. NOT.EVEN.CLOSE.

Of course this isn’t war. However, ideologically we are approaching a point where we cannot resolve differences with talking. At that point, there are only two options: suffer under the weight of oppression or dissolve the relationship. That doesn’t mean war is upon us.... in fact it’s more likely one side or the other just deals with it for decades. And dissolving the relationship amicably has historical precedent as well. So, definitely not war. All that said, violent conflict on a larger scale is not impossible approaching or facilitating the “dissolve” stage. Many government institutions have lost credibility. And anytime people can’t solve issues by talking the potential for physical conflict exists. So I think these articles are accurate in that a potential path to violence exists now in the US where it really didn’t 15 years ago. But war is NOT right around the corner and we should be thankful for that. I certainly don’t want fighting in the streets.

A history moment, for those so inclined. The Haymarket Riots were in 1886, and that's where Emma Goldman's schtick really took off. http://www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haymarket_affair By the end of 1919, Woodrow Wilson actually forcibly deported a bunch of Eurotrash lefties back to Siberia (I kid you not). See "Deportations" in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F...d_Scare#Deportations So, I've gotta ask - is this more like war or more like a bad case of herpes?
