I attended DV day for Exercise Quadriga 2025 at the Baltic port of Rostock yesterday. This is a series that was started in 2023 to train reinforcement of NATO's eastern flank from and through Germany. After a focus on air operations the first year and land operations the last, this year the Navy was in overall charge. Core of the demonstration was protection of a civilian ship under contingency charter heading out to Lithuania with (real) equipment from Panzergrenadier Brigade 37, with Bundeswehr and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state police cooperating. In light of the current security situation in the Baltic Sea, the measures weren't strictly just for training, though for the benefit of the audience they involved interception of some troublemakers operating drones, speedboats, etc. Got some nice pictures out of the day.

Of course, when you fire one, you fire the one on the opposite side to compensate for recoil. Been years since I was in Rostock, nice town.

Only 4? The US Navy's SOC-R is armed with 5 weapons points, each capable of mounting one of the following: M134 minigun M2 heavy machine gun M240B machine gun (single or dual) Mk19 grenade launcher So that's potentially 5-10 guns.
