Ive turned into one of those people who can't make decisions when it comes to purchasing things. Thanks to Al Gore's internet and Apple's MacBook I over research everything to the point of mental paralysis.

I need a set of P255/45R20 tires for my Ford FLEX. It must be a somewhat of an uncommon size because some of the more popular tire models aren't available for it.

The car came from the factory with Hankook's Optimo H426 Grand Touring tire. I'm not a fan of Hankook tires and I want to replace them with something different. I've been researching now for over a month and am getting nowhere and the wife is running out of patience with me. Will you help decide on a tire either from your own research or personal experience?

A friend of mine runs Michelin Latitude Tour HP's on his Explorer, he has 56K miles on them and they're in great shape withs lots of miles left on them. I decided to go with them only to find out they're not available in my tire size.

I was close to going with Goodyear's Eagle Sport All-Season tire because of it's rim guard but started reading the reviews and a reoccuriing complaint is they're loud.

A couple of tires that have my attention are Pirelli's Scorpion Zero All Season Plus... great ratings but I don't know if they're legit or if Pirelli paid for them...and Michelin's Pilot Sport A/S 3+

I'm not familiar with brands like Nexen and Nitto so I haven't really considered them.

I want a good all season tire with performance handling on wet and dry surfaces(I don't drive it in the snow), quiet and decent tread life

Your recommendations are welcome and appreciated.

i've had a/s 3+ on last 2 vehicles, good wear, low noise, bought thru discount, where i've been a long time customer.

Have you researched the Nokian tires? I've been using their AT tires on the last couple of trucks and have been impressed with them. I put their WR G3 tires on my mothers Toyota RAV4 and it's a completely different handling vehicle. The reviews of the WR G4 tire, which is the next generation tire, is very positive. I also get them thru SimpleTire.com

Including at least 6 suitable Michelins.

It's been 15 years, but I sold tires to pay for college. The people who purchased Michelin's didn't come back, except for rotation & a new set when they wore out.
I have used that experience as well. I have 60k+ on a set of truck tires that are due for replacement very soon & my wife is at 65k on her SUV - her's are wearing amazingly well & will probably go another year.
My only other experience recently has been goodyear & I have been somewhat underwhelmed every time + I think they put magnets in the sidewalls - I end up buying 6 for every set. My 2015 Sierra came with goodyears & I replaced all 4 at 25k when I was going to have to buy a 3rd tire due to sidewall puncture. Probably bad luck, but it similar happened on my 2005 before it. With Michelins, I might get a tread puncture, with goodyears I get multiple sidewall punctures.

Unless I'm looking at a specialty tire where there's 1 clearly superior choice, I'm going Michelin every time.

Michelin's are the leaders in the tire game and those would be my first choice.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3, because it's fun to say. Don't use them when the temp is below 40 degrees and be prepared to replace them every 15,000 miles.

I normally prefer Michelin's, but have Pirelli Scorpion P Zero A/S+ on the 2020 BMW X3 because the Michi AS 3+ were out of stock. So far, the Pirelli's are great... but only have 5-6K miles on them.

I run Nokian WR G4 in the winter on the X3, and although not quite as good as the Hakkas, they're very, very good in snow and ice and apparently can be run year round.

I say Michelin A/S 3+, Pirelli P Zero A/S+ or the Nokian WR G4 would all be great choices. The Michis will probably last the longest, but ride the stiffest. Conti DWS 06 are also great tires, if they were the right price I wouldn't hesitate running them either.

We have Pilot Sport AS3+ on our Flex. Fantastic tire & has been great in all conditions. 100* Houston heat, Houston monsoon rain, sub-freezing temps in Flagstaff. Doesn't miss a beat.

I'd have to find the records, but we've got a lot of miles on the Michelins & they're just now getting close to replacement. Probably 5ok if I had to make a guess

I'd be all over a set of those Continental Extreme Contact. Continental tires overall seem to get get really good reviews and ratings.

The Pirellis you mentioned are solid. I’ve got a similar tire on one of my vehicles and they’ve been outstanding.

I really like the Continental DWS06 also, big fan of that tire, had it on my last vehicle. Outstanding tire.

Went with the Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+. Gonna take a little ride up the road tomorrow to visit with mom. A little over 200 miles round trip to try them out. Thanks for your input.

Hope they treat you as well as they have us.
Our Flex is getting near needing tires, and another set of these is top of the list.

Just double checked my records & we put the AS3+ on in June 2017 at 75k miles.
IIRC, we have around 120k on the Flex now.
So around 45k miles on them so far & t he fronts are starting to get close on replacement.

Are you a Costco Member? If so they sell the Michelins and Bridgestone tires, mounted and balanced, nitrogen fill (regardless of the conversation on that) at a great price, usually there is a discount deal, right now you get a $110 to $150 discount on the tires, bridgestone or michelin.

Plugged in your car info, there are several options, choosing all season You have the Primacy Tour A/s Pilot Sport 3+ or the Bridgestone Potenza Re980AS. The Bridgestone gives you 5K more warranty.
