229DAKGift idea for woman graduation Navy ROTC
Also, if she does get a sword, will any of her uniforms require alterations in order to wear it? How much will that cost? [Will receiving the gift entail costs on her part.]

KP93As almost 30 year SWO, Sword required uniform item for LCDR (04) and above —- optional for LT (03) and below. Parents purchased mine for commissioning.
Other consideration might be a good set of personal binoculars (Steiner) or comfortable black boots (steel toed)...that would run the spectrum of high to low and practical...

pedropcolaDon’t get a sword. I got a sword upon graduation from USNA and it has never been used other than my son has it somewhere doing something with it. Lol. Only time I ever used a sword for anything was sword arches at weddings.
On the other hand, there are some very nice rings that are made from the warfare pin (SWO) that is made into a fine piece of jewelry. I have always liked these and they age well.

jhe888You can get any number of nice watches for your budget, and for me, that would be a great gift.

Skull LeaderOk, now for my serious answer. If she is getting a sword from another family member, how about a display case for it so she can store it while it's not in use.
Display/"I love me case" for all of the coins and what nots she'll be earning during her career.
And a rubber ducky.

AglifterThis would sound odd, but if the budget is $500, and you do want to do a watch - I'd say a Japanese made G Shock.
I really like my GW 5000, which was about $320, but resin. The metal ones will be around the $500 mark.
