This is a long shot, but I’m hoping we might have a member nearby that might possibly have seen or heard about this little dog. The new owner and breeders have been searching for 2 weeks now, and while there were initial sightings, for the last five days they haven’t seen any sign of her. Those involved are hoping that maybe someone took her in. It’s about an 8 pound fawn colored Italian greyhound. Think tiny baby deer without the spots.

They’ve got trappers, drones, scent bait, food bait and cameras going. I think they were going to use tracking dogs next.

New owner is devastated, breeder’s husband flew out from east coast to assist, then breeder herself drove from the east coast with 3 or 4 of her other dogs (related to the lost one) just to walk the trails and try to draw her out.

If you’re from the region, could you keep your eyes/ears peeled? Clearly this dog is not suited for the wild, and it has a very loving home and people who care about it. If you’re not familiar with the breed, they’re extremely fast, and if frightened, they run. If they’ve been loose long enough, they can easily go feral. This little one was just placed with this family a week prior and had not adjusted to her new normal.
Thank you.

Thanks for your kind reply. They had the first sighting of her yesterday in five days, so hope is back up. Sounds like she’s now moved about 5 miles from where she bolted. Hopefully the scent of her mom and a sib will bring her round now that they know where to set more traps and scent trails.
I’m just happy someone saw her and called it in. They had their search radius at about 3 miles, I think. Hopefully today’s the day.
