Leftovers from last night's celebratory meal. Our oldest daughter, Hannah, got engaged to her beau, Joe yesterday. He planned a 2-day, 3-state scavenger hunt which ended with him proposing at a bonfire in a snow covered field on his family land, under the stars.
They've been together 4 years now, and have a year left in undergrad before med school for Joe. Wedding is going to be early next summer. Hannah is the smartest, calmest, kindest godly young lady you'll ever meet, just like her mother. Joe is an amazing young man who has diligently guarded their purity, and works SO hard to stay on the path he's planned since he was a kid; following his dad and grandpa into medicine. A more perfect couple cannot possibly exist!
Oh yeah, I made my signature lasagna (yes, real Italian sausage, provolone+mozz, and ricotta, plus copious amounts of garlic for the purists), baked asparagus wrapped in prosciutto di Parma, spicy capicola w/ fresh basil and mozz pearls, antipasto, and washed down with a nice imported chianti.
