Be especially careful at as the farmers are often pulling equipment that is well over the oncoming lane and it typically lit poorly or not at tall. The old equipment that farmers used when these county roads were built wasn't nearly as large. Now they are actually too big for the roads they typically travel.

I did three trips with an older Massey Ferguson tractor towing a full JD manure spreader, maximum speed maybe 10 mph.

I'm hugging the right side of the two lane road, county leo goes by and we exchange hand waves.

I appreciate it when people are considerate, but it's no surprise, I do live in farm and ranch country.

One would think that being from the area Soules woulda know'd better. But perhaps Hollywood as a way of draining the smarts outta ya.

Is the new process now? Drink & drive, crash, get home, and refuse to come out for hours or until you think your BAL is normal?

I watched a lady drive right into the back of a tractor at full speed.
She hit this black farmers tractor and implement in a new BMW. She hit him hard, then launched into the air and landed 180 degrees opposite, the tractor just moved forward. The farmer was not hurt just scared almost to death I am sure.
I was going the direction she landed or opposite them. We got out and got her baby out of the rear seat and waited for highway patrol.

I am still amazed the farmer was not harmed at all. Old tractors are strong!

AURORA — Reality TV star Chris Soules reached a settlement totaling $2.4 million with relatives of Kenneth Mosher in connection with the April 2017 crash that killed him.

According to probate records, the settlement in the wrongful death case went to Mosher’s estate and was approved in January. It discharged Soules and his parents, Gary and Linda Soules, and their insurance carrier, Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Co., of all liability in the collision.

Authorities said Soules was driving a pickup truck that rear ended a tractor driven by Mosher, 66, near Aurora on April 24, 2017. Mosher later died. Soules was charged with leaving the scene of the crash, but not with causing it.

Under the agreement, the law firm representing the Mosher family — LaMarca Law Group of Des Moines —- will receive 35 percent of the gross recovery.

I assume this was the civil case. What happened to the criminal case?

This guy, Soules, does he have short-term memory loss or something? I can't help but notice that he has his name embroidered on his shirt. Maybe it ought to have been upside-down so's he could read it?

Or maybe back-to-front so's he could read it in a mirror?

Some of the way larger farming operations also do custom work on the side,
plowing, planting, picking, trucking,
its not uncommon to see
the big operators advertising on t-shirts, jackets, polo shirts.

if you see a dozen farmers up at the gas n go, for lunch , at least 4 of them will display either their name or the farms name.

Sugar Cane harvest time ended about a month ago here in Louisiana. That's a bad time on the road with cane trailers coming out of the fields and tracking mud on the highways. You really have to be on your toes

Ah, gotcha. Guess that's why so many farmers around here are called John Deere.

Agricultural equipment movement is problematic if not done properly especially during periods of peak traffic and the movement of the equipment should have a escort vehicle. Equipment that exceeds the width of the travel lane should not be allowed on the road until as an example the go to work morning or the evening going home peak periods are past.

. Thanks for the advice, but I haven’t seen a tractor in a field in over three weeks . The wettest spring as far as I can recall. With grain prices at a ten year low and the wettest Midwest spring in 50, I’m seeing a lot of worried farmers.

Feel sorry for the farmers here in Wis. It has rained almost non stop. Usually they're planting by now. They haven't even gotten into the fields to plow.

it won't be this week though

we had a quarter inch of rain , last night,

five hours later it's still sitting on top of the dirt

. Maybe not, the prevented planting payment for corn is May 31 for qualifying acreage. It gets complicated quickly with TrumpBucs and federal yield payment protection.MG
