After shooting at the range the other day, I stopped with my son for some coffee and donuts. Everything was fine though I almost never buy DD coffee inside. I once in a blue moon buy their coffee at the grocery store, which isn't bad. I did notice while I was there that there was a sign on their door offering a $1000.00 signing bonus if you would work there for at least a year. Strange times.

I could never get into DD coffee as the caffeine content is much too high for me. However I have friends who have been drinking DD for 20+ years who have weaned off of it in the last few years. Some did it because they realized how much money they were spending on drive through coffee, others dropped it because they claim the flavor/caffeine has changed in the last couple years.

I did buy one of those box of Joe's and some donuts for a work crew and out of politeness I had half a cup with them to shoot the breeze before they started. To me, it still tasted bitter and burnt (I drink all my coffee black). I got anxiety and headaches within the hour so for me the caffeine is still high.

Let's face it - one "D" will never be as good as "DD's".

A new one opened by me and the coffee is great. That being said I dont expect it to last. The donuts were real fresh too.

Most of the Dunkins around here are owned by Indians(India) and 95% of the time they dont make mistakes nor do I have to wait unless the line is long.

There is a Starbucks in the same area which people go nuts over. I dont know why because the service sucks.

Now there is a WaWa opening by me cant wait for their Cuban roast.

Dunkin went off the rails for me when they quit making the donuts on site. Now everything they sell as food is made off site in some large commercial kitchen and frozen, shipped in exery couple of days. You're getting thawed baked goods loaded with preservatives. They just totally suck, and taste like cardboard.

For the last year or so their regular coffee (that I order black and add Splenda to...) just tastes burned all the time. I just can't even go there anymore.

"Time to make the donuts!!!" yeah, made somewhere else, frozen and shipped. yuck.
