My computer has decided to lose wireless connectivity. Not even the little radial antenna icon in the task bar. No networks available. Running ipconfig as administrator comes up with media disconnected. Obviously typing from my phone Any ideas? -.---.----.. -.---.----.. -.---.----.. Make sure WIFI is enabled or your adapter is not disabled (two different things).

Is it a laptop? Make sure you didn't hit the wifi switch and turn it off. It's usually a little lever on the sides.

Along what was mentioned... about the adapter...if (in W10) you right click by the start window and select device manager you'll be able to see a list of hardware. Should be under Network Adapters. You can find a listing for your wireless adapter. Usually windows will have an icon to note when there is a problem with the device. Regardless, you should be able to uninstall the adapter and reboot and Windows should identify the hardware during the reboot and re-install the driver. That's where I'd start personally.

I don’t seem to have a WiFi switch on my dell satellite. So I dont think I could have done that. I can’t seem to find any keystrokes that would turn the adapter off -.---.----.. -.---.----.. -.---.----.. What is your Dell model number? In many cases the switch can be toggled with software or a Function Button. Do you see the adaptor in your "Network and Sharing Center"?

Does wifi work on your phone? Is your home network listed? Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice - pull down your pants and slide on the ice. ʘ ͜ʖ ʘ

If it’s a Satellite, then it’s a Toshiba. Try hitting Fn-F8. If a Dell, it’s F2 RB Cancer fighter (Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma) since 2009, now fighting Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma.

thanks for all the replies Dell Inspiron (sorry for the previous incorrect model), needed a slew of new drivers that were unaccounted for in the regular updates. Spent 1:20 with the most helpful off-shore tech support guy who took care of all of the issues and was far more effective and entertaining than should be allowed. Again, problem seems to be resolved.
