Tonight, we were dining at a relatively nice local restaurant. My wife had grouper, he had salmon, and she shared a bit of grouper with him. My wife asked him if he preferred the grouper or the salmon. He turned me and said, "Dad, that's like asking me whether I prefer the HK23 or the Glock 18!" And, yes, he has shot them both. The Padawan's training is complete.

Like being asked if one prefers Ginger or Mary Ann. I say, what do you mean "or"?

Well, he might be really into guns, or he might be a really cute kid...Just trying to understand the context

The Glock 18 comment had nothing to do with the question, but it's a somewhat rare occurrence for most anyone to get to shoot a Glock 18 in the US. Makes you go hmmm, you don't hear that every day! Wink

Gotchya. He is 16. I have a friend with all sorts of toys, and he has invited us out to shoot a few times. My friend is obviously very careful with new shooters. I was proud when my son demonstrated his safety and awareness to the point that now, when we go out, my friend drops the tailgate to the truck, hands him an MP5, an ammo box, and says, "Have fun!"
