I have a 2015 F-150 and just got the basic mat figuring the Aluminum bed is not going to rust.

The 2005 F-150 I sold recently had it shortly after I drove it off the lot new; 16 years later it still looked great. My new to me 2018 came with it already in. Any new trucks will also get it. Yeah I’m a fan.

Looks like I have to wait. This is what I received from a local dealer today...

Good Morning, I'm reaching out to you because I got your inquiry about having your truck sprayed with a bedliner. First I would like to Inform you that, as of right now we are experiencing a Material shortage for the Line-X bedliner material. So in the meantime we are spraying another product that we had made for us to be as comparable to The Line-X as possible. It's the same color, texture, thickness and application process as before. The Only difference is that this does not carry a Nationwide Warranty behind it

Picked up the truck today, though! It's nice! It has the 2.7L EcoBoost column shift.

My Jeep was good to me for 10 years, but I drove it for the last time today. I've gone back to Ford. The first vehicle I ever bought with my own money was a 1989 Bronco with the 5.0L V-8. My, how Ford trucks have changed.

Reminds me of a long time ago (40 years) when I had a real job and one of my co-workers was borrowing another guy's truck and he promised not to scratch up the bed... I knew the world was changing that day... who ever in their right mind worried about scratching the bed of a pickup truck? At least when I grew up on a farm that was not ever a concern.

That’s a good looking truck.

I’m like you in that I was looking for a column shifter, found a 2018 XLT with the 302a package that got me remote start, nav, and the center console, but column shift. Mine has the 5.0 V8 and I couldn't be happier.

Benny, that’s a really nice looking truck. Love that shade of white (I guess it’s a pearl). My F150 is 8 years old. The dealer contracted for the spray-in bed liner and I did not specify Line-X. It’s held up perfectly.

I bought a new F-150 in 2002 and on advice from a friend got line-x that week. I sold the truck in April this year with the truck liner intact, some scratches and a pleasant migration from sharp black to middle aged gray in color.

I got a new F 150 and got Line x the same week. Sticking with something that works.

SifM4, that's a sweet ride!

TMats, the color is actually silver. It's in great shape, as far as I can tell.

Spray in liners are worth every penny. Ceramic tint and spray in liners are always done immediately. Luckily my guy does both.

Any particular reason you are wanting the dealer to do it?

Vortex and Bullet Liners are usually slightly cheaper than Line-X and carry a lifetime warranty.
I have Vortex in both my trucks and they do great. If I were a commercial contractor and did much more with my bed would probably spring the couple hundred extra for Line-X.
But for a homeowner type use truck Vortex has been great and was $400.
Prep and application are everything.

My wife made me line-x the bed. First time I was shoveling bark dust out of it she wandered over and slyly noted: "told ya so". She was right. Glad I did it.

Line-X is great and worth the price. I also had my nerf bars Line-X'd....they look just like the day they were sprayed(about 2 1/2 years)

Did my 2015 Platinum with Line-x and it still looks fantastic. I did spring for the extra cost top coat that gives it a glossy finish and the truck has a bed cover that is closed the majority of the time. The only issue I have had is a penney size spot got sliced/gouged out when something with a sharp edge Got caught when I was dragging it out of the bed. I think it is covered by the warranty but I have just never gone in to have it touched up. The aluminum is not rusting so I just haven't done it. I would install it again in a heartbeat.

Driving a $70k (probably $85k today's prices) truck off the lot to Line-X and hearing them grinding on it is not for the faint of heart.

Line-X is a mixture of polyurea and polyurethane. The mix is the secret. Enough hardness to be tough. Enough softness to be grippy. Getting it done right with the right ratio is key. I also use a mat over the Line-X. $700 is going rate. Choices are under rail or over rail. I think for new truck under rail is right choice. Do not expect other chemistries to match Line-X exactly.

Heh. When I first got my `97 F-250, my Dad took one look and said "I want to be the first one to throw a shovel full of gravel in there!"

Nice looking truck Benny. I'm curious to know what you think of that little EcoBoost engine after you run it for a while. I'm deferring my new truck for a couple more years, but I'm already pricing them out (ouch!) and deciding what to go with. I've always been a Ford guy but I'm not opposed to Ram or GM.

In my last F150 I just got the rubber matt for the bed floor. It supported all my needs for like $89 bucks.

I spent the difference on a foldable bed cover which kept all my in bed stuff out of prying eyes and in my bed while hitting top speeds.

Line-X is worth every penny. I’ve done it on 3 trucks now, and only issue was some metal banding that sliced a little chunk out, but was covered by warranty. Dealers get a discount with the local Line-X guy... so I asked for them to do it at dealer cost for me when I bought my last truck. $435 for a short bed Silverado is what I paid. I think the go rate was $100 more retail. I’ll second getting your wheel wells done. I did mine myself with 3M cans... and while nice, the Line-X would have been best.

That is a really nice looking new truck!! Gonna now be forced to google search for "column shift" on the F150's. How's that different from any other truck? Or does it have to do with the center console shift being the other option??

I've used both Rhino and Line X and agree with consensus that Line X rules. The bedrug things would be nice if I didn't haul mulch, etc.
