Sorry to hear it.

LSP552's name is Ken Trull. You see his name in my signature line. Last I talked to him all was well. He is the interim director of Louisiana Highway Safety Commission. Steve Campbell, IIRC had the handle of LSP972? Maybe?
I haven't heard of Ken's passing, but have not talked to him in a year. Last I heard, he was running the highway safety stuff and doing well.

A google search does not turn up an obit?
I am so sorry I got the screen names messed up. As far as I know Ken Trull is alive and well.

Damn, he was a wealth of knowledge. Only knew him through his posts here and elsewhere, but it was clear he was an old-school, real deal lawman, in all the best ways. Sorry to hear of his passing. I hate cancer.
As many here know, LSP972, Steve Campbell, has been battling brain cancer. He passed away this evening. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
Steve was a Vietnam veteran and Army Ranger prior to joining Louisiana State Police. He spent time in Patrol, Training, and Gaming Investigations. He was a long-time firearms instructor, SWAT member and the supervisor of the LSP Firearms Training Unit for several years. Steve was a pretty gifted shooter in general, and one of the better revolver shooters, being a PPC High Master and 1490 club member. After retiring from LSP, Steve went to work at the LSP Crime Lab doing ballistics/firearms stuff.
If I ever know my time is coming, I hope I face it with the same courage he did.
Ken

That's tough. RIP.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Really going to miss Steve. He helped me with my Sigs when those were my first pistols. Then got me on the HK bandwagon. He never turned downed a phone call for a question about firearms.
Going to miss those breakfasts with him before firearms classes. He was an awesome friend.
