CNN Says Eisenhower Purchased Alaska-Tries to Ridicule Trump Saying He Wants to Purchase Greenland
Better yet, perhaps we can just do a swap, and persuade the Danes to exchange it for the sunny tropical Paradise known as Puerto Rico.

Greenland can't afford to own Puerto Rico. I'm sure the budget to pay all that waste and corruption far exceeds Greenlands.

I posted the following on another forum:

For those who find it difficult that Trump wants to take over another world continent, it is understandable. We‘ve all grown up with these maps, which have greatly skewed our perception of global land scale.

These Mercator projection maps were originally for navigation. Drawing straight lines would be more correct and made sense. The further from the equator, the more skewed everything becomes.

For some perspective, the area of the contiguous US is 3,119,885 square miles, and the area of Greenland is 836,330 square miles. The area of Africa is 11,725,923 square mile, and the area of South America is 6,890,000 square miles. Texas is 268,597 square miles, Alaska is 663,268 square miles, and the Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC) is 905,355 square miles.

So…Greenland is:
14 times smaller than Africa
3.7 times smaller than the contiguous US
8.2 times smaller than South America
3.11 times the size of Texas
1.26 times the size of Alaska
1.08 the size of the DRC

From looking at our skewed Mercator maps, you can see those land mass areas aren’t represented even close to reality. Now when Trump wants to ‘acquire’ Greenland, it shouldn’t be so hard to stomach for those who find it hard. Don’t get me started on Antarctica…
