I think the exchange on the Canadian dollar is about 30% right now so that would be a bargain.

Buying Canada would be a good idea except we get that pesky problem with Quebec, but since they're so desirous of independence (distinct society and all that bunk), this just might meet approval.

The other problem with this is that Canada is a socialist country so its 30 million would likely become democrat voters because they're used to big government and cradle-to-grave support.

But we do not want their health care problem.

In thinking about it, perhaps we don't want to buy Canada. We might want to rent it for a few weeks just to give it a try though.

90% of the Canadian population is massed on our norther borders poised to attack at a moments notice. They are just waiting for their chance.

We should just invade, conquer, and seize all their bacon.

I dunno, its a big empty country with lots of resources. And the upside of global warming will be the opening of the arctic to transportation and development. The Russians are all over this. We have a tiny little piece with Alaska, but Canada has a big chunk, and with Canada and Greenland together, that should be almost half.

The Quebec this is kind like Puerto Rico. They want to act independent, but they can't really hack it on their own. In the end, they're not going anywhere. And dissolved into a combined population of what would be 360 million, the 8 million in Quebec (not not even the population of NYC), couldn't cause too much trouble.

No good snow beaners.

I say we just take Vancouver Island and Whistler Blackcomb. Oh and Halifax. I like Halifax.

Also include the Queen Charlottes. Super good fishing and hunting.

Based on the Canadians I've met, the easterners would like to take tax money from us for more state benefits and the westerners would like to join the US and build a wall to the east.

Only half. When Russians realized they could only afford the down payment, they built a wall to prevent foreclosure.

So if the purchase of Alaska was "Seward's Folly", what will future generations call Trump's purchase of Greenland? Smile

I'm just not sure where we are going to fit that 51st star.

Racist of course.

Well, 51 only has 2 factors, 3 and 17, and a rectangle with those dimensions would look pretty funny on the Flag. Maybe could be 3 rows of 8 alternating with 3 rows of 9?

I have heard that 90% of all Canadians live within 150 miles of our northern border.

It was discussed when Ford (IIRC) talked about making Puerto Rico the next state and although I don't recall the details someone figured it out.
Probably just as flashguy suggested.

Thinking small! We need four to have nine rows of six on the flag: Greenland, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Guam. I think this was first suggested by Andrew Jackson.
