This one is new to me, got a text which purported to be a shipper needing to verify my shipping address. https://abc13.com/package-trac...from-texts/11371463/ Which describes it well, being a two day old post. Click the scammer link and fill in your credit card numbers if you dare. Not advisable. Just in time for Christmas and all the last minute delivery worries a few million have. In my case I read it twice and decided it was a scam, some weird internet link, NOT amazon or other, plus since when do they do this? As provided in the article, you track off the shipping number they emailed you days ago, which has 87 random numbers and maybe a Z in it, not whatever short weird one the scammer provided. Like home intrusions, they get you to open the door because you can't see or hear the clues. Heads up, anyone ever hear of UPS/USPS/FedEX/etc ever doing this? No. Buyer be aware how to track, not be attacked.

I hate it when legit companies such as your health insurance calls you and then asks you for your information to confirm it is you. da fuq??? "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Do---or do not. There is no try. |
Biggest clue is that they text with a Nigerian accent.

Easy to pick up on Nigerian. When they try to disguise it they sound a lot like that Smollet guy. So far, the Amazon order I cancelled didn't arrive either. Oh well. Found the same item used for less than half on ebay.

I asked one such “representative” to prove to me they were who they said they were… The conversation really went sideways after that. ———- Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for thou art crunchy and taste good with catsup.

I got a text the other day for a delivery that I knew was coming that day via UPS. The text said that they would not deliver the package unless I paid the tax first via cc. I ignored it. Package was delivered.

I just had this happen for the first time with United Healthcare. I was like, you called me, I'm not confirming shit. I then called using the CS number on the card. Basically they claimed they wanted to make sure I was aware of a new surgical network they were promoting. Still makes no sense to me. Stupid f'ing practice. Call came in as a NJ number not as UHC. Normally wouldn't even answer it but was expecting a call and it could have been with a NJ number. As someone with elderly parents, the last thing we need is legitimate companies starting this shit.

Yea I get that crap all the time. I the last year or so we have received four packages we did not order. The first one was for a relative of our neighbor. I gave it to them. The second disappeared from the garage where the delivery guy left it. The last two I kept.
