We have a Latin couple at the Flea Market who moved up from Key West. Every week they tow in their taco trailer and set up to make Mexican foods. They do quite a business on the weekends. Not fond of the tacos as Im to accustomed to the Taco Bell flavor. I thought I would try the chicken quesadilla 3 times now in 1 week. I believe this to be the best food I have eaten in several years at the Market. Going to buy one for a friend at lunch tomorrow. Everything is fresh and mild hot sauce is splendid. I've been missing out because this stuff is great food. I noticed on their menu they spell it different. Do you like any kind of quesadilla?

We will get on a kick for them once in awhile. I make them at home using flour tortillas, cgrilled chicken breast from Costco, cheese blend in my sandwich press. Fresh guacamole, sour cream, and pico de Gallo on the side What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

What is that pico stuff 911 Boss? Seen it on the menu. They've got fresh diced tomato, onion and lettuce. Sour cream and a home made green mild hot sauce. Dont know what kind of cheese is inside. While I keep wanting to eat 2, one seems to do the truck. It is darn good food.

Pico de gallo is like salsa, but everything's chopped instead of blended. Tomatoes, onion, cilantro, chilis and garlic. 911Boss, speaking of Costco, have you tried the raw tortillas they carry? They'd probably make a killer quesadilla in that sandwich press. So much better than the cooked packaged stuff, it's about as fresh as it gets. We do quesadillas fairly often with the raw tortillas. I use a cast iron flat griddle and lightly toast both sides of one, pull it off and do another. Add chicken or ground turkey, all the vegetables, and a bit of cheese to glue the whole thing together with the tortilla I made first. Home made salsa, when I can. ______________________________________________ “There are plenty of good reasons for fighting, but no good reason ever to hate without reservation, to imagine that God Almighty Himself hates with you, too.”

Thank you. I pass on the cilantro. The rest is all good. Having another at lunch tomorrow. Lets eat!

Cilantro is the flavor anchor in pico de gallo without it you might as well add lettuce and have yourself a side salad. "Fixed fortifications are monuments to mans stupidity" - George S. Patton

Thanks Ill pass on the bar of soap taste too! There are a lot of other GOOD flavors in pico without the cilantro. I'm alright it's the rest of the world that's all screwed up!

"bar of soap". I recently read that an estimated 17% of the population experience this "bar of soap" taste from cilantro. Too bad. To me, it has a slight citrus taste.

The wife makes quesadillas all the time ~ it's a staple here in Texas and great. Not sure what brings the cilantro-haters out of the woodwork every time someone mentions it but cilantro is great on/with/in Tex and Mex food but no one sits down and eats a bowl of it. Love Cilantro!

Ditto...love cilantro. Great idea: got some leftover chicken and will whip up some quesadillas for lunch! Thanks for the inspiration. --------------------------------------- It's like my brain's a tree and you're those little cookie elves.

Comments like "without it you might as well add lettuce and have yourself a side salad". I dont care if you like it or not. Lovers don't have to put down someone who doesn't like it!! You are asking the wrong question. The question should be why do people feel the need to interject their opinion (especially to the OP)if it is different. I agreed with the OP. Well said, triggertreat. I never criticize anyone’s opinion about food flavor. Serious about crackers

I am so sorry I forgot how sensitive you AC guys are, so I apologize. The OP is experiencing his first quesadilla, does not know what pico de gallo is so we need to let him experience the cuisine at his own pace ~ with or without any integral ingredients. NOW...who's up for a discussion of "Chili ~ with or without beans?".

J. Allen (may he RIP) had the definitive judgement on the bean issue, I hope I'm quoting him correctly, "Go ahead and enjoy all the Texas Bean Stew you want, just don't call it Chili." Or as some of us prefer, "chile."

No, I haven’t seen such a thing at Costco. Will have to check next trip. I usually get my flour tortillas at cash and carry. What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

They are very busy today and it had sort of a dirty grill flavor. Plus he put cilantro in them and I really didnt even notice any flavor. Less onion, less tomato, less sour cream. Still pretty tastey.
