Setup an account here

https://imgur.com/

Then you can drag and drop images to your account and then post the link to the image in the forum.

When you upload, 1) be sure to mark them Hidden so only the people you want can see them. 2) Resize the image, always check it's size, camera images are generally HUGE!

Resizing Images: Login in IMGUY, go to your images, click the image, click edit, resize, click save. Using a max size of 480 is good, IMGUR will input the other size ie 480 x 256 for you.

To post that image in a thread,

In IMGUR, ) Open your Images folder. 2) Click on the image you want to use, 3) click the Copy button on the direct link line to the right once the image is up, 4) Post here using the photo posting button on SF

Any free hosting service will do, steps are going to be similar.

Also, you can download the IMGUR app from the Google store, then directly upload images from the Phone to your IMGUR account. Once you upload the image, go to the PC, your account, edit, resize, copy direct link, to SF, post...

At the risk of frustrating you further:

-move the image you want to upload from wherever it is on your computer to your desktop, just to make it easier to find when you set out to upload it. If you're really sure of the pathway and can get there easily, skip this step.
-go to postimages.org
-click the "choose images" box in the middle of the screen
-when it pops open the file selection window, look at the list on the left side and click "desktop," then look at the right and find the image you want to upload. Click on it and click on "Open" at the bottom. If you didn't move it to the desktop in the first step, just go find it wherever you know it to be.
-As soon as you click "open," it will automatically move back to a screen on the postimages website, and the message will say "upload completed!"
-look down at the list they give you of different options: link, direct link, markdown, etc... You want the one that says "Hotlink for forums." So you look to the far right of it and it has a blue color icon that looks like 2 sheets of paper overlapping one another. Click that, and it will automatically copy your link to your clipboard on the computer (will pop up "Copied!").
-come back to sigforum and open a reply box
-right click in the box and click "paste," and it will apply the picture/gif. That should do it.

If you are wanting to post something from the internet directly to sigforum, you can avoid downloading it to your computer first by right clicking the image you want to post and selecting "open image in new tab," then go to that new window and copy everything in the URL/title/searchbar area (select, right click, copy)
-go to postimages.org and click on upload by url which is on the upper left corner
-in the grey box, right click and paste your copied image info, then click "upload."
-again look down and select hotlink for website, click the blue tab to the right of that box to copy it, come back and paste it as described above.

Apologies if that wasn't what you need, but it works for me and I'm no scientific rocket with this stuff.

^^^^^ If the image is already on the web, just right click on it, do "Copy Image Location", and paste what you copied between the IMG bookends:
"[xyz]copied URL[/xyz]" where the "xyz" are replaced by "IMG". (I had to do it that way to keep the bookends from actually trying to work.) Don't forget the left and right square brackets when you type the bookends.

Probably alot of different ways. What I do is plug the phone into the computer with the same cable you charge with. The computer will give you choice of charging or download files. Download pictures to computer then resize with paint program then upload to your hosting site.

Bendable, I’ll make this as simple as possible.

If they are in your email, you need to SAVE them to your computer.

Once they are SAVED to your computer, then you can UPLOAD them to www.postimages.org

Once they are UPLOADED to postimages.org, copy the link to whatever post you are making on SIGforum.

If you have Facebook you can share them directly from your phone or 'puter to FB, then copy the image URL link on FB & paste it here using the image icon above. You can call me...

Bendable,

No one is ever too stupid. Here’s the easy directions, just go step by step.

If you downloaded the pictures, and are using a windows computer, they are in your “downloads” folder. If you are trying to find them, open your files and on the left, you should see a folder with the name “downloads”.

GO back to my initial post....
if you use IMGUR as your picture host, then..
you don't need to email them to yourself.
all you need is the IMGUR app...
setup an account
upload them using the app to the IMGUR site.

How to Upload Image

open the image in the app,

press the copy link button,

go to your internet browser on the phone.
open SF
Open Thread
click reply or post
past the link.
Done...

ONce it's on IMGUR in your account you can then go to your computer if you wish and post it from there, so you have your image access from IMGUR on phone via app or pc.

If you’re trying to use postimage

You need to use postimage.org

Not postimage.com
